I'm thinking about running Torque on a dedicated Kindle in my rig. Not really sure why yet, which is why I'm posting this.

I'd love to see your dashboards and hear what data you think is important to have on Torque whilst you are on a expedition.

    Thanks!

I have an ipad mini 2 laying around collecting dust. How would one go about doing something like this?

Torque is android only. You can look into Dash Command, which many ios users seem to like. I almost went that way, considering I have an old gen 4 ipod touch I could dedicate to it, but it only supports up to ios 6. I believe DC needs 8+.

Edit: You would also need a bluetooth OBDII dongle for your truck. This is the one I use.

Waking this one from the dead. I have an old S3 that I'm doing for this.
I've FDR the phone for the reset.
    I've installed the following.

    Torque
Llama (a simple IFTTT app) to power up and down quickly
no screen lock free allows going to either torque, or car launcher pro w/o a swipe.
car launcher pro (great launcher so far for the car)

I've got get my BT set up for the truck, it will go directly to Torque on the power up, etc thanks to Llama.

I have to figure out a perm mount for the phone now. May do a Pillar mount. I'll have to put a USB port on the right side, but no big deal.

Question about the Bluetooth link. If the OBDII dongle is connected to your android phone for the torque app, I'm guessing you can't also have your phone connected to your head unit for calls and music. Only one Bluetooth link at a time or is there a way to connect both without separate screens?

I'm moving from the S3 to my old Note 3 as the ODBII will not reliably connect.
Regarding the actual phone/odbII connection, not an issue. When I'm running toque it runs fine with the other phone Bluetooth operations.

I just mean you can't connect one phone via bluetooth to 2 things ( headunit and obdii) at the same rime.

    Depends what device you're using.

I regularly have My Samsung Galaxy S8 connected to my OBDII, my entune, and my wireless headphones all at the same time

I ran S4 and S7 devices when I used torque, calls on blue tooth were no issue. Can't remember if I also was able to run Spotify at the same time, though.
