anyone compared what their TPMS display shows for pressure vs a standard tire guage? My TPMS display seems to always be about 2psi higher that what my guages show

I trust my manual gauge. At this point in time, the TPMS is dead nuts in agreement with tire gauge. But I still check weekly with the manual.

Most manual gauges are Chinese garbage. Its difficult to find one of trustworthy quality. I'll trust my TPMS readings. I've yet to devise a scheme to use for calibration other than testing many manual gauges and throwing out the outliers.

Mine is the exact opposite. Gauge reads 3-4 psi higher that dash display.

BUT...I am 99% sure it's my cheap gauge. I never double checked with my good gauge.

Thanks I have 1 quality older gauge built in the USA and it is within 1-2psi , you and others have restored confidence that the tpms is likely more accurate. You just never know these days if you can trust electronics without a mechanical way of verification. I like to run my tires at 32-33 vs 29-30

Agree with this statement re: Chicom rubbish. Thankfully, have a truck tire gauge made in the good ol' US of A, and older than many of the members here.

I know this is an older thread, but is the TPMS system still accurate after you re-initialize the system when you rotate the tires?

I guess what I am asking is that is the system reading the actual pressure or am I initializing the pressure in the tire it to where it should be (the door panel pressure)?

I'm wondering if I am creating an offset when I re-initialize or if the sensor is purely reading tire pressure. If it's purely reading pressure, I need to throw out my manual pressure gauges as they are really off.
