I just got my California DMV registration renewal. In it is an additional item that this service builtin is now mandatory and has to be certified of being completed. There's no way I can get this done in a week. I leave for the summer at the beginning of May.

Maybe Montana or Idaho registration is in the cards

Had mine done Yesterday. With an oil change and state inspection IT was a little over 2 hours (1.5 for the Cat I believe). I call and set up an appointment and told them to order the parts before I arrived.

Yeah but the dealer near me took 4-6 hours for each of the free oil changes... So I'm thinking it might take them more than a day haha

yea I doubt it. I didn't ask for a rental . Im sure depends on the dealership. Some don't mind providing rentals. But for a job that will take a few hours, I doubt they'll offer a rental car

They gave me a discounted rental. I got a RAV4 for about $14. I could have chosen a Corolla and gotten more discount but I wanted an opportunity to drive the RAV4 for a day.

Took my truck in for a service this weekend and got recommended to have the recall of the catalytic converter, so went ahead and had that done.

Since then though, I've noticed a really weird, rank smell when I get out of my truck after parking. Has anybody else experienced this after having the recall done, or have any insight here? Could the smell be coming from the cat or is it something entirely separate?

Awesome. I assumed it was related to a new part getting broken in, but just wanted the double confirmation.

    Appreciate the responses.

I have a 2015 TRD sport, V6...is this something I should worry about? From what I've read it seems like it's only the 4cyl., but I'm a novice gearhead, so I don't even know what I'm reading when I read half these posts haha

Go to the Toyota Website and you can input your VIN. It will tell you if it is required on your vehicle ....

Finally got mine done last week. I've had the letter for over a year. Been too busy to take it by. finally figured I better get it done before they refuse to do it. Mine didn't rattle before, so I can't say that I notice any difference with the new one. The dealership did tell me the part is an $1800 charge if not done under warranty work.

I am taking mine in for this soon. I have a aftermarket muffler. The flange bolts on it it look rusted pretty bad. They will probably have to be cut with a saw zaw to get it off. Do you think I will get any issues from the dealership because of this?

Resurrecting an old thread; just made an appointment to have this done. Odd though that the last time I did a VIN search on Toyota's safety recall/service campaign site this didn't come up. Hoping this will remedy the P0137 code I haven't been able to fix.
