I have a quick question about our maintenance lights.

I usually change my oil either at 5,000 miles or 5 months what ever comes first. The last oil change was Oct of 2016 with roughly 54,--- miles on it. I use Amsoil Signature series 5w-30. I now have 57,000 miles and my maintenance light is flashing.

Does our maintenance light read by mileage or is it so sophiticated enough to read oil?

I am not boosted, I do have an oil catch can and have the 4.0 ltr.

    My 2014 reads by miles.
I think it's every 4,800 it starts flashing and at 5,000 it's on steady.

You don't have a problem. The maintenance light is just a reminder light based solely on mileage.

Maintenance light starts blinking at 4500 or 4800 miles, then stays on steady at 5000 miles.

Have you tried to reset it to see if the light goes out? If it is the oil change reminder it should go out, if it is something else it will continue flashing and you'll need to get the code read

Seems pretty straight forward, anychance you forgot to reset it back in Oct?

Yes I reset in Oct, my scan gauge has no codes stored either. I didnt think the light was for codes. I will reset in morning. Do you guys think it might have something to do with oil catch can? I emptied it for the first time since last oil change too. 3500 miles on it as well. Maybe back pressure, it wasnt full to where it filled lines.

No, its a 5000 mile clock. Thats it.

Codes are indicated by the 'engine' lamp.

Gotcha, luckily have never had a light on other than change oil and the tpms. Wasn't sure if the Maint Reqd light was linked to amy other sensors along with the odo.
