Ha! This thread shows you obviously have no idea what that entails, so no worry.

It' is possible to do long travel on drop bracket but your going to need custom shocks with a extended lower rod

I know it's a Tundra, but we run 37s on a 2" lift and have full articulation lock to lock with no rub.

This thread is great education OP - it sounds like for what you are looking for, grab some spacers and rock that mall like you own it. Nothing wrong with that at all.

That top one is Mark and he wasnt LT, he had LSK stock length lowers before it all got ripped apart a few years ago and awaiting a SAC. @MYT4CO
But yes, you are very correct about the custom length Coilovers.
His build inspired my 08 build when I had a DB lift and wanted more functionality off road.

@Glueman still has a DB lifted Tacoma with many goodies. OP, if you want to see a great DB lifted truck that gets used, talk with him.

The 6" thread will also be a good place for you to ask questions.

I'll join in saying blocks, spacers, maybe a body lift and some trimming to get the wheels and stance you want. Do this for as little money as possible.

Then run it for a year, figure out what you like and don't like, and rebuild the truck from the ground up :)
    That's the TW way.

    Stuff not brought up -
Spacers will ride a bit rough because they preload your springs - your shocks will bottom out before they hit your bump stops
Long travel is big money (4-$5000) so think about your budget
BUT our trucks are already built for IFS, (UCA, lca, cv axles, coilover shocks) so swapping to long travel is more 'doable' than ripping everything else out for a solid axle (8k-infinity)

If you are really not into off-roading/never will be, go with the wheel spacers.
But if you ever get the itch to go off-roading, EVER, you'll be set with a long travel kit
I.e. Looks = longer shocks, Dakar (3") or Alcan (Alcan does custom leaf spring if your looking for 6" or more) leaf pack (leaf packs will keep their arc/lift longer than AAL) & wheel spacers. Mall crawl like you stole it!
Performance - Total Chaos LT 2.5" with upgraded wider axles and whatever else comes with it
    Good luck!

Well if you really want to talk to somebody in Wisconsin that has experience with an LT Tacoma, I could help you out. Ive had a total chaos kit on mine for about 4 years now. I live near Madison so you are close enough to check out the truck and we can talk why an LT kit would be a waste of money with what you plan on doing with the truck.

Idk if a lot of people on here have first hand experience w/ these 3rd gens, but this exactly the problem/query with them. It's pretty hard to make room for bigger tires. Thanks for not hating , I posted this to educate myself and it's pretty interesting (especially the last few comments!).

Not much different than the 2nd gen when it comes to the CMC. There is a size tire out there that requires just a little bit of work and in my opinion is the best all around tire on the 2nd and 3rd gen.

    285x75r17 (34")

I ran them on my 08 that had a DB lift and now I run them on my 15 with a 3ish" lift. ;)

Check out @JerryTaco and his 3rd. Probably one of the cleanest 3rds on the site.

    Good luck OP

Thanks for the link to Jerry's build. He is running a smaller tire too, just like me currently. Here is mine...

You can SAS anything if you have enough money or fab skills. Theres a guy I've seen on Facebook working on doing a SAS on a third gen.

If you want to tuck 35s just do the cmc and throw on fiberglass all the way around you have enough lift to fit 35s just need glass and maybe a spacer if you want wider stance. Spacers aren't bad but if all you want is wider stance and don't plan on off reading very hard I'd say spacers why spend 3k on a long travel kit for it to be a street princess

Our crawler has wheel spacers and has gone places where your average vehicle wouldn't ever go and it's been fine. Even been rolled a few times lol. Good to go. Just spend the money on good spacers and not cheap eBay ones.

I have seen this mentioned previously but I think it needs to be emphasized, a TC +2 LT Kit is not $3500. That's just the cost for the kit itself, depending on what kind of deal you can find your looking at something like...
    Kit: $2500+ish
    Shocks:$1400+ish
    Extended CVs:$600

If you hunt around for deals you might be able to get better deals, but good luck, I don't see sales on TC gear very often.

Your already at a minimum of $4500 without any of the options or add ons (spindle/cam tab/UCA bolt gusset/race arms/adjustable UCA/shock CDC/shock reservoirs)
Add on another several hundred for the install if you aren't doing it yourself.

If you want "stance" get wheels with less backspacing and save a shit load of money and time/work maintaining a LT truck.
