Long time listener first time build threader...
Anyways started working on this bad boy a while ago. I am missing a ton of pictures of bending the conduit for the structure and welding up a frame for the under side.
We used duck canvas for the sides, when we do it again we will use rip stop....
We water proofed using a mixture of clear silicone and mineral spirits. We went this route because well, I'm cheap. And it worked great!

But hey if you have the ability to cut a 4x8 in half and access to a sewing machine you could be saving some coin.

    Artistic masterpiece

    20160825_112735.jpg don't have a close-up on the hinges
The parachord run through the system distributes the weight, I like to use a lot. Because you know... better to have it and not need it right?
    20160826_153327.jpg
First test run. I didn't sew anything. All held on with duct tape, so it could be removed easily.
Made my own folding ladder... big mistake.. heavy!

    IMG_20160704_115506.jpg
Curtaco tent version 2.0 in the works!
    IMG_20160626_140334.jpg IMG_20160626_134210.jpg
    IMG_20160804_140145.jpg
Used templates to measure and cut out the fabric on the sides. Went oversize about 2". Ended up just cutting out one large piece that fit the shape I needed
    20160826_173814.jpg
We Kind of cheated a little bit. Sewing a zipper door is harder than it looks. So we sacrificed our old tent.
Made for an awesome open roof though!
    20160826_171559.jpg
    Cut and mocked up
    IMG_20160827_125457.jpg
Put the wife to work! She went over all the seems twice with the regular sewing machine and then once with a surcher to cut off any extra bit.
    IMG_20160828_143205.jpg
    Then all stitched up!
    IMG_20160828_144043.jpg
And finally as she sits on the truck,
By means is it finished we still need to make windows on both side and possibly remake another roof. It is held on temp right now so that we can continue to mod as needed.

Feel free to ask me anything, or if you have any suggestions let me know!
I will continue to post progress pics on this thread along with the writeup on our bed rack

    Nice work man.

The frame structure looks fairly easy to build but I'd definitely blow it trying to sew the tent together.

You are spot on with that. Had to have the wife and mother in law do the sewing!

Get that woman some vinyl and a industrial sewing machine and let her make you a cover. I sew some also and know what an undertaking this was. Very nice job!

From what ive seem there are many ways to make the hinges. I chose this setup as it doesnt have harsh edges or anything
(The rtt is in storage while we are selling the house, so my art will have to do
