Enterprise Toyota is in Canoga Park in the San Fernando Valley. It is a privately owned Toyota shop and is not associated with any dealer.

I took my Toyota SR5 there in 1993 for a starting problem and was charged $60 to fix it. Never had that problem again.

Then a year later I took the truck there to have a strange noise checked out. Sounded like it was some kind of internal engine noise. The owner (Geri) came out with his stethoscope, listened to the engine for a minute, and told me he thought the idler pulley bearing was causing the noise. I replaced it and that fixed that problem.

In 1996 I moved out of the area and took the truck to a Toyota dealer to have the valves adjusted. When the truck was returned to me all the valves were clattering. The tech had adjusted them while the engine was hot, and the manual said they should be adjusted while the engine was cold (a 2.7L engine), and there was nothing that could be done. I called Geri, described the problem to him, and he said I should back off the bolts that hold the valve cover down. Those bolts screwed into the camshaft mounting towers and when they were tightened too much they pulled the towers away from the head and increased the clearance of the rockers. I loosened the bolts, all 2 of them, and my noise went away. So much for dealer service. I think it ALL sucks.

And in 2014 I took my 1998 TRD to him to diagnose a road noise that sounded like bearings. He rubbed his hand along the tire treads and told me the treads were cupped and that was the cause of the noise. Then he had his tech rotate them and said I should consider new tires. He didn't charge me anything. I bought new tires and the problem went away.

I know the San Fernando Valley is a long ways away but you may want to consider Enterprise Toyota for a 2nd opinion.
