Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the Lumbar support on the drivers side seat?

Is the knob on the side broken (stripped) on the inside? If not, either cable system failed, or it popped out of the springs on the back of the seat.

You can remove the seat to have a look. (30 minutes)

Once you have the seat out, there is a material flap on the bottom of the seat that unhooks from the seat springs underneath. Remove that and you should be able to see the cable mechanism and inspect it. It's fairly simple system -- nothing fancy.

If it is broken, it will be easier to remove the upper seat cover to replace it. You will need to cut the hog rings to remove the seat cover. Then you will need hog ring pliers and hog rings to reinstall. That is about a 1-2 hour job. ( I know because I just installed leather seat covers and heated seats last weekend.)

Thanks alot for the information DistortedAxis. I believe it's the cable system. It seems like it gradually stopped working which maybe a good thing. I'm gonna mess with it this weekend and see if I can get back to working. Fingers crossed..
OK so how did you go about the leather seat covers and heated? I HATE HATE HATE the material the seats are made of they stain with the least little bit of anything even water. Of course you probably know that from having the same year.
One other question, I'm wanting to replace the headlights and tail lights with after market ones and I've heard becareful of which ones you get because alot of then are really cheaply made and not all that great.
Just wondering if you might have any recommendations?
