Any pros on the subject available to answer my stupid questions? I've search quite a bit and haven't found as much detail I need.

    Thanks.

Yeah. Keeps the charge air temps cooler, reducing spontaneous ignition (knock) and damaging your engine. Especially since it never came with a after cooler.

You can also run a 7th injector to help cool the charge.

Let me emphasize, I want to eliminate closed loop ping and I don't want to run a 7th injector setup.. Can I completely support a 2.1 Pully with water/meth injection? I've upgraded my fuel pump to a walbro 255 but I am currently stock injectors. I have no problem dealing with the hassle of water/meth injection and from what info I have found, a progressive kit seems to be the way to go which I plan.

I think i'll be going with a AEM Wideband & Coolingmist stage 2 kit.

For what its worth, I have extensive tuning knowledge in the sportbike world and will most likely adapt a motorcycle FI Piggy back to control injectors/datalog and install a 02 sensor eliminator..

The motorcycles fi piggy backs are capable of providing detailed info on TPS/AFR/RPM.

Yes it will work with the high impedance injectors as thats what most sportbikes use and TPS is programmable in the software for the Piggy back.

A lot of motorcycles come with narrowband 02 sensors so company's that mfg piggy back systems also mfg 02 eliminators (no CEL and false AFR reading).

Not sure what size your stock injectors are.

Not sure how much crank hp that pulley will raise the engine to.

Not sure what the what max IDC for crank hp your stock injectors can handle.

Regardless of the cooling and timing benefits, having the properly sized primaries is a must.

OEM Injectors from what i've read are like 280cc? I plan on upgrading to what i guess should be

Methanol is a better solution than the 7th injector IMO but as Tor mentioned upgrading primaries is the most direct solution.

The only way to eliminate closed loop ping is with an o2 or afr skewing device. I'm not familiar with URDs unit but I run an AEM fic6 now on a turbo and I couldnt recommend it enough but it's a much more involved setup.

You could probably get away with only methanol on a 2.2" but not the 2.1". Methanol is great with the sc. It gives significant performance gains because it basically acts as an intercooler. A guy by texasaces played with all ratios of meth with a 2.2" and found 50/50 to be the all around best and also noted he had leaning out at above 5000 rpm and needed the 7th injector to compensate.

I didn't get an afr gauge installed until after my sc setup was all gone so I can't say first hand how well the methanol helped afrs. Low rpm pinging never went away even with 7th and meth but I felt a much larger performance gain from the meth. I was running a 2.1", URD 7th and a cooling mist progressive kit.

I was looking at the AEM FIC but i've read its so temperamental.. i can get one for a really good deal so i may go that direction but its not preferred.

I installed one on a 2000 4x4 with almost no hiccups but I can see how that would be true especially from year to year. It seems newer models and automatics, or at least the people whom drive them, have the most trouble with the set up.

I would recommend it over the 7th all day long and I'm nearly certain it would solve all the issues with the sc even with a 2.1". I would also say using it with meth would be a good route to go if you're looking to maximize performance.
