Redline Tuning Hood Struts

Anyone get these REDLINE TUNING Struts yet? Toyota should have installed these from the factory. Gives you more working room and feels like quality when the hood raises by itself!

I have them on my second gen they are totally worth it

 

I'm not sure why they would put the mount after the crumple zone and not behind it.

I'm curious what would happen if these hood struts were installed.

 

They were very easy to install and work like OEM, nice and solid. Good purchase and I am very satisfied. My next mod will be a LED light strip under the hood. If things go as planned I will never need to open my hood. That is the reason I bought a Toyota!

 

You'll need to do routine maintenance. Just sayin'.

I had them on my Focus ST. Worked great for four years. Definitely worth it.

By the way, if you screw up and mount one of the upper brackets backwards like I did (facing in instead of out), they still work fine. Only difference is that the Redline label is on the inside so you can't see it when the hood is open.

 

Do you kneed to do any drilling or do these install with current hardware?

I just installed these on my 2014 and they work just as good as the factory struts that came on my wife's 2016 Camry.

 

Each strut has two brackets top and bottom. 4 holes each for each strut and then you will need your own pop rivet tool and drill bit. which i actually had. Took me about 30 minutes and that was measuring twice etc. The instructions had nice color step by step photos for the 3rd Gen.

Had mine in place since they came of for the 3rd gen...luv them. Install as stated was easy and quick. Good directions from Redline.

 

Love them. I got the elite. Just make sure you use a good quality rivet gun. Easy install!
