De-badge and "re-badge"?

Weird... vinyl lettering on the tailgate "Tacoma" is not a factory option. So it was a dealer installed upgrade!

 

The All-Black TRD decals on the bed look great.

 

My wife put a bunch of Stupid Subaru Love badges on her Forester. Well, it is her car.

 

I think the tailgate vinyl lettering gives it a better defined appearance. Over the long history of pickup trucks, they have been manufactured with raised stamp lettering that is painted an accent color.

 

I think that will look great with a flat black rocker panel TACOMA logo. I am thinking the same thing for my Quicksand beauty. I have a vinyl cutter and need to get off my tail and design something for my truck !!!

 

Actually I'd like a set of the "Tacoma" lettering for the tailgate.

Not the vinyl letters but some "crappy fake plastic "chrome" looks" to match the chrome 4x4 and V6 emblems....lol

For those who have them, I really like the black TRD badge on the tailgate. Any particular site to get that from?!

No de badging for me. I just put a vynil overlay on the badges this morning. It's all personal preference.

 

Love the TRD on the fender. I need this!

 

I'm not a fan of the bling (plastic chrome emblems) so off they went. I prefer a more plain, clean look.

My magnetic gray metallic Tacoma will have all black accents.

 

That looks good....

I wonder what other colors would look like.

Black pillar tape: keep or remove?

Chrome Tacoma door emblems: keep, remove, or plastidip black?

Can't decide on either one...

my feeling is if you have dark tint then the black looks good, but that blue is so nice you can either way for a great look. personally i would leave the black tape.

 

Thanks, that's what I was leaning towards but I kept going back and forth. For the door emblems though, I'm completely torn

 

really like this look! I ALMOST went blue, to do the blue/black look and last minute decided to order Inferno (and glad I did!). i'm plasti-dipping my grill as I type this (between coats) and am color matching the Toyota emblem in the center. i'm going with the orange/black look, so debadged all the tacky chrome stuff and put the black matte inlays in the stamped Tacoma on the tailgate.

so, I think debadging those sides will make it look much cleaner and I like the black decals on the pillar. it'll look even better once the fronts are tinted.
