Heading out to some trails around Borrego Springs (Lower Coyote Canyon, Font's Point, various washes) and Ocotillo Wells on the 16th. No hardcore stuff, my Tundra doesn't fit so well on those trails anyway. 2WD trucks with decent tires should make it. Who's interested?

I can probably meet you guys for a day. Would prefer Sunday but I know you already set the date in stone.

You shouldn't have a problem, they'll probably help you out. If you give me a couple bucks for gas you can ride with me.

    Hope to see you there.

Coyote Canyon is the only thing that should give you any trouble. It's a short trail and you could always be a passenger for a few miles if you can't make it through. We'll have straps and a come-along.

Going to try to get a recovery tow hook and a shackle on the front before Monday. But is leaving my truck at the visitor center and rolling out with any of you an option?

I hope the trail isn't too narrow, I'm sitting at 86" wide.

Visitor Center, trail-head, open spot on the trail before the rocky section, it'll only be for a few hours so you should be fine. Do you have a hitch receiver? Is there no type of hook on the front from the factory? I would think that something would be there, at least for tow trucks and on-road use. Got a picture of your truck?

Wow, I think that's wider than my Tundra. If memory serves we should all be fine regarding that consideration.

I took off my air dam thingy and my OEM tow hook off today. Planning on installing a BPF recovery tow hook with Smittey built shackle and BPF skid plate tomorrow. Was planning on doing this when I got my tires but... I'll have all these installed tomorrow. Don't have straps or other gear and on stock tires but if you don't mind I would really like go!

Looking forward to exploring tomorrow. Is Coyote the section that's a water crossing or is there a bypass around it?

Hope to see you there next time then.

I have two Baofeng UV-5R radios. Guess I should put a frequency up.

No bypass for the deep water, but it should be low at this time of the year and there haven't been any storms for a few days.

I ran out of steam doing some much needed maintenance on my hooptie and it's still not done. Looks like I ran out of time to make it tomorrow but you will definitely find me at the Superstition meet next weekend.
