Brake fluid quantity to buy??

I'm at 70k miles and my brakes are starting to make the subtle brake ringing noise when coasting, so its time to buy all the hardware. I can also feel the rotors going 'out' and back 'in' as they instantly heat up and cool off - but they aren't permanently out, yet.

So for folks who swapped their brake fluid - do you buy 1 liter of fluid or 1.5 liters of fluid?

I tried searching...but the results were not very clear. I am only asking because only use Motul RBF 600 on my vehicles, and don't want to buy the 3rd container which is like $20 and cannot be stored.

 

buy 2-3 quarts and keep the receipt, if you don't use it take back and get your money back. getting motul is overkill, a good DOT3-4 will do the job just as well

Exactly this. Better to have too much on hand than not enough. Return the extra.

 

I appreciate the responses guys. I'll get 3 containers (1.5 L total) then to be safe - forgot to post that the Tacoma is the longest length vehicle I've ever owned, which is why I was asking this question. Sedans and small suvs only need 1L total usually.

Are those powerstop kits any good?? I was a little skeptical in the past because of the source and price.

I was planning to go with Centric premium rotors (used them on two other cars three times over the past 15ish years without any issues ever), and the TRD pads...nothing too fancy and a nice upgrade which lasts for the price. I've gone with Hawk HPS pads in the past on other vehicles which are very very good, but I'm not a fan of waiting for them to heat up in the cold during the first 1/4 to 1/2 mile of leaving my house in winter time.
