I installed the rear body armor bumper a year ago. It was an easy install and level.Still looks as good as new.

I installed the Body Armor Bumper and it fits fine. I also installed the swing out tire carrier which also fit fine but interferes with the back up camera. Worse than that is I didn't check clearance between the tire carrier and trailer that I tow. MY BAD! I can't swing the carrier out with my trailer hooked up, therefore, I can't lower my tailgate when the trailer is hitched. I'm trying to modify the gate my shortening the gate near the pivot point and adding a hinge left of center so the gate will fold open. If it works, I'll take photos and post results.

Other than my bad judgement on clearing the towed vehicle, the bumper and gate fit well and are rock solid after a little adjustment.

For the front, I bought the ARB with winch and it fits great except the stock fog lamps had to be replaced.

I just installed the Body Armor rear bumper and tire carrier on my truck. Most everything went together fine. Instructions could have been better. The bolts that hold the spare didn't line up with my spare tire. Just a tiny bit off. Had to drill two of the three holes out a little bit bigger. I think that was the only problem I ran into. The latch for the tire carrier to the bumper could have been better. I drilled a hole through the end of the handle and ran a line through it to secure it to the bumper. The latch looks as though it could come loose and now your swing tire carrier is swinging loosely clothes lining other cars. But overall I am very happy with the bumper and tire carrier. However, with all the extra weight on the back end of the truck, I lost close to half an inch of ride height, if not more.

Due to all of the mixed messages on this thread I thought I'd throw in my two cents. My stock rear bumper was badly dented and rusting in several spots so I purchased and installed the Body Armour. I personally found the instructions adequate although I did struggle with getting the stock one off as all of the bolts had 9 years of salty winter roads worth of rust built up on the threads. All of the holes lined up and I was able to adjust the bumper to fit with everything looking balanced on each side to within 1/8". Contrary to what someone on here said, it is not necessary to remove the two bolts on either side of the factory receiver hitch. I accidentally did... but as the instructions state, there are only 10 mounting bolts that need to be removed/replaced. The rest are minor fasteners for the stock bumper skin. I'll be installing some LED license plate bolts in a few weeks when they arrive in the mail. In time I may also replace the 8 exposed bolts and washers with stainless if the included ones begin to rust up. Overall considering this bumper cost about 1/3 of what my next best option would have been I have to say I am very satisfied.

I just put this on mine 2 days ago. Really like it. It smooths out the ride a little as well. Not much, but I can tell the difference with an empty bed. I went ahead and took the entire bumper off and then removed that frame piece and put it back in. I didn't feel like spending all that time on my back trying to pop off those plastic tabs under there for that top plastic plate. One of my pop pins under the step plate disintegrated when I tried to pull it out, so I just took the bumper off and it was way easier to get the top plate off with all those tabs. I didn't want to risk damaging the main plastic guard plate as I plan to sell it. I also had to remove my kick down bed step from AMP research. I hated that. Love that little step. I'm looking into seeing if I can weld something under there to be able to use it but it's not looking good. I already have five 3/4" D-rings. Wondering if 7/8" D-rings will fit in there. Just too lazy to go out and measure right now. Still raining. Anybody know if 7/8" rings will fit those shackles?

I know this thread is a little old, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me the height of how much the spare tire sits above the rear tailgate for those that have the swingout. I have my RTT mounted on a bed rail and only have so much clearance. Thanks in advance for the help. (Yes, I have read all the reviews, and I am gambling on hopefully getting a solid working product). Again hit and run and the insurance is paying for it so I wont be out anything.

Running the tire swing out does not put the spare tire up to high. Probably 6-7 inches above the top of the trail gate. See attached pic to get an idea.

Yeah, Im running 33s though on stock TRD wheels and I have a very tight window (approx 12in) or I will rub the under part of the RTT. I was hoping that maybe someone with this setup would be able to measure and give real world measurements. Thank you though gilpin!

Well, I finally got my bumper installed and looks great no issues whatsoever. For a cheap replacement bumper I would highly recommend this one (less than $400 to the door). In my case I had a hit and run driver and the insurance replaced it for free. You can tell the weight difference as it is very heavy and well built and its even a little bumpy driving down the road, so keep that in mind if you are running a stock rear suspension. (I am not and still noticed it)

The guy's here need too stop knocking the O.P,I think he got a first generation Body Armor bumper and I think Body Armor had not yet gotten ALL the issue's resolved in there design at that time. The one I got clearly say's made in USA on the box and is brand new. Also no problem with using the spare tire rod too lower the spare plenty of room.

lynlan thanks for the update man. Glad to see yours was easy. I would let you know how mine was..., but the body shop did it . I also agree with what you said in that the company may have changed fitment, etc but the good news is I personally beleive its a great bumper for the price, and it doesn't look all that bad. The only better bumper imo is the CBI high clearance which is way more $$$ then I currently have to spend.

Do you have any pics, love seeing them on our trucks ;)

Topgun, mine look's exactly like yours except my truck is silver in color, can you tell me what tire size you are running as that is my next project.Haven't taken any picture's yet of the bumper, also I do not know how too post photo's here .Agree with you about how good the bumper look's and how thick the steel is on it for under $400,the other bumper I was looking at was $900!!! plus shipping.

Sure. I am running 255/85/16 Maxxis Bighorns with a 3in Icon stage 2 lift. That was there was no cutting or BMC I had to do. The tires are very loud and dont balance well, but the size is great. Next time I am going with the same size in a BFG Mud Terrain KM2. Hope this helps.
