Just installed a Viper 4115V remote start on my 2012 Tacoma. The problem is every 15-20 times using it, the remote starter will not start the vehicle and it will continuously crank until I stop it. Obviously a major issue with a remote starter seeing if I do not watch it, who knows how long it will crank...

Any ideas on what could be causing this? The installer went through it and found no issues with the wiring or programming.

Depends on what the installer used as the trigger to stop cranking. Some will use virtual tach (voltage sense), others will do continuous crank (set period of time), and others will ACTUALLY hook up a tach wire. DEI systems by default use a Virtual Tach that monitors the battery voltage when cranking. Once it sees the spike in voltage (the truck got started successfully), it disengages the starter. If it fails, it tries again. You might just have to reset the brain so the virtual tach can re-learn.
