    Hi folks,

Hoping someone can give me a pointer. We had a severe rain storm here in NorCal this week. My 2006 Tacoma was parked on the street, which turned into a river for most of the day. Afterward, there was a puddle of water in the cab (passenger side, front right where the passenger's front right foot would be). Truck was parked facing downhill and leaning to the right, so perhaps water could have entered somewhere else and rolled there.

Anyway, the next day my headlights and marker lights stopped working. Specifically, the low beams and marker lights are out. Turn signals, high beams, fog lights all work. The low beam fuses are good. I was checking things on the street in the dark, so didn't check the marker light fuses.

I'm no mechanic but assume it's a short or blown fuse. It'll go to the shop next week, but I'd like to address this sooner. My question is - is there another fuse, or component which I can check, which would account for both the low beams and marker lights being out? I assume that that would be multiple fuses, but not sure if there's another component which may have shorted out.

    Any suggestions?

Start with the fuses. That's your best bet. If they are O.K. it might be the headlight switch.

I checked both low beam fuses - both ok. Regarding the headlight switch, the tail lights come on properly when the headlights are turned on, so I assume the switch is working.

make sure you also check relays, water logged connectors and even the trailer plug socket.
