my 2016 Tacoma trd off-road has a clunking coming from the front end. It only appears when it's cold and snowy out and they haven't plowed the roads well. You can kind of feel it in the foot well. I've crawled underneath and there isn't a significant amount of snow/ice built up anywhere. What could this be? With how many times I've had to bring this thing into the dealer (2 hours away from me) for leaf springs that were bad, cruise control not working, transmission not shifting right, rear locker light flashing, Bluetooth not working, and now this. I'm about to just trade it in for something else. This is my first Tacoma, been lusting after one for years. Traded in my 1999 chevy Tahoe with 300k+ for this and it didn't have any of these issues. Have kind of a sour taste in my mouth now.

Does it happen pressing the brake after moving?

No, doesn't happen pressing the brake. It happens just driving along. Anytime I hit a small bump in the road it does it. Almost sounds like a bad cv Joint, but no clicking when turning. Going to the dealer on Monday. Just getting really tired of driving down there. Wish there was a closer one.

It's not that noise. I'll see if I can get a video of it.

Sounds like they need to plow the roads better.

mine did that for awhile. 3 toyota dealerships couldnt find it right away. Mainly because our local dealerships here cant seem to find much but it turned out to be a lower strut mount bolt and also the front frame mounts.

    maybe its those.

For sure. However I live in summit county Colorado and we've been getting pounded this year. Towns haven't been able to keep up.

Feel like I've read two or three threads about clunks in ThirdGen front ends recently on the forum. However I think at least one of them had an aftermarket lift.

This is just for audio purposes. I tried to get a video on the exterior, but too much wind and engine noise. The camera is just sitting in the foot well near the dead pedal.

I've been getting some video of various parts on my suspension using this contraption - some heater strap, zip ties, cardboard, duct tape, and an old ipod. Don't know if it will work for you...

I have recently experienced this same sound... and I also wrote off snow/ice until after I took it through a car wash. My sound went away completely after a warm car wash. I assume mine was underneath the airdam under my wipers.

I am getting this same sound as well. Noticed a little more today on a hard packed gravel road.

I am wondering if it isn't a wheel well liner bouncing around.

My rear wheel well liners rattle like hell.
