Unfortunately, I cannot elaborate..... Because we haven't even started developing anything yet. Ive played around with some ideas though, and none of them involve mounting it near either battery. Most likely, the design will involve a separate mounting plate near the brake master cylinder or near the power steering reservoir. Sorry I can't be more specific; I just don't know yet.

No worries. Now you got me super excited because I wanted to mount a compressor under the hood along with a dual battery set up.

    What haven’t I changed?
Subbed for future reference. My battery died over the weekend and it got me thinking about dual battery setups again. This kit looks like it would be a perfect fit for me, except I would need a slightly custom secondary battery tray so that I could mount my winch solenoid to it. @HeliMedic are you really in Erie, CO? I'm in that area most weekends, so maybe once the weather gets warm I can stop by for a visit?

Thats really tough to say. Im sorry, Im not intending to be vague.

We're currently working very hard on fulfilling the promise of developing battery systems for a ton of different vehicles. I'll likely be very busy rolling those kits out. If I can find a slow moment to manage another group-buy, then yes, we will do one this year.

In the mean time, I have activated a code for TW members to get 5% off at checkout on my website. I know it doesn't seem like much, but it saves about 50 bucks off a full system.

    Code is: TWMEMBER

@HeliMedic Hey man it's been awhile, I'm just getting back to this project and noticed you changed the side by side design. Any chance you still have any of the dual battery offset trays? That design seemed to offer a pinch more access to the headlight bulbs on us second gens.

Thats a great question. The Side-by Side Trays you see on my website are not intended for use in the 2nd Gen Tacomas. Those trucks NEED the "Staggered Side-by-Side Tray". I still make them but the 2nd Gen folks need to contact me until they are available on my website.

Ive been busy redesigning the side-by-side tray so that it will fit both the 2nd and 3rd Gen Tacomas. That design is done and I will be cutting prototypes this week. As soon as I know it fits, I will throw them up on the website.

Thanks for the great setup, 24F fits just fine.IMG_3690.jpg
I built a 10 circuit add on and think I will have room for the battery isolator when I am ready.

    Very nice work!

Yes, the larger batteries will fit in the 3rd Gen, but the tiedown is not centered. Thats ok, as Im sure it will remain plenty secure.

Im working on a new version of thinner, stronger, machined aluminum, tie downs. They will most likely be anodized as well.

Here it is. The new machined aluminum tiedown. Thinner, stronger, and in my opinion better looking. You need these

Will these be coming stock in new orders? One of your kits is high on my list to order.

Yes. These will be the new standard tiedown for all full kits and stand alone battery tray orders as of next week.

The old "compass" tiedowns will be available to those that absolutely have to have them, until I run out.

Awesome, sounds good. I think the compass ones look pretty cool but i'm always down to cut weight because racecar.

Hahaha. The new tiedowns are actually much beefier and a little heavier as such. But trust me, it's a vast improvement from an engineering standpoint. They are narrower which reduces the risk of terminal contact and they are stronger which reduces deflection when tightening. They also wrap around the battery a bit to keep it centered and prevent movement even if it were to come slightly loose.

Both tiedowns are made of aluminum, so they're both plenty light.

They will be included with every battery tray, and two will be included in every full system.

Individually, they will be $39 each
