Looking to upgrade my tires on my new Tacoma. The stock tires look a little small on the 16" wheels.

How big would you recommend going with the truck at its stock height?

    5100's to come later. [IMG]

    Thanks.

This question gets asked at least once a week. Please look around the forum and use the search function in the future.

The largest tire you can fit on stock suspension would be a 265/75/16.

If you're sticking to the stock 16" rims and end up with a 285 size, keep in mind your tire will probably rub on the upper control arm. You'll need wheel spacers or new wheels with higher backspacing.

I'm running 265/70/16 winters (on older steel tacoma rims) and have no problems with rubbing although I'm really not 4 wheeling in my new truck. Still on rough roads though. Take a look.
I agree the stock tires look weak. I want to get Goodyear Wrangler 265/70/17 's for my 17in sport rims. Also want to paint them black but don't have the balls to paint brand new rims! I'll Paint the Steelies when I take them off.
