Is the current generation 4Runner big enough for one (6',1" 195lbs) person to sleep in comfortably, with the seats folded down?

I just got back from 2 weeks of touring Iceland in a Land Cruiser, and looking for a vehicle to do the same in North America. Considering Tacoma Pro with racks and RTT, or 4R Pro - sleeping in the vehicle.

    TIA.

Yeah like @dtaco06 said I sleep in mine on every run/camping trip I do. Heres what I myself do and If your 6'+ the trick is taking out the rear back seat bottoms so when you fold down the back seats that they will actually lay flat and you gain about 6" because the bottom cushion isnt taking up the space where they fold up normally up against the back driver and passenger seats and you can also remove the three rear headrest to gain more space. Also bt removing the bottom cushions its perfect for loading up your rig cause you gain storage space and secure area for all your stuff by leaving the the back part of the seats up when driving its a secure barrier for all your stuff to be loaded against like your cooler and things you like to have access to while driving and its a solid flat floor with tie down points as well to keep things from shuffling around side to side and the rest of your belongings can be in the way back without sliding forward onto you protected by the seats and there are tie down points back there as well.
A buddy of mine is 6'5 and sleeps in his no problem..with a click or two of passenger seat seat forward, lol.

I know mine has a weird drop between the rear seats and the cargo area. Maybe it's different for 3rd row seat models. You'd have to maybe build a platform of some sort

I am 5'7 so there is room to spare. I have a trail with a slide out tray so it's perfectly flat. You definitely want a twin air bed to make it comfortable. I don't think the drop would be noticed as much with an air bed.

I sleep in mine. I haven't used a tent (except on motorcycle trips) in over a year.

As noted by a few others, if you have a 2 row seating version then there is a crazy hump in the middle of the cargo area that makes sleeping - even with a thick air mattress covering it - uncomfortable. 3rd row versions have a totally flat floor.

To solve this problem with the 2 row versions and gain the most space available, remove the 2nd row seat bottoms (4 14mm bolts) and store them. Fold the back seats down, and remove the fascia panel covering the "hump" (2 10mm bolts). Slide in a specially built platform to make the cargo area level (see below). Slide 1st row seats all the way forward and place Rubbermaid 8 gallon Action Packers in the 2nd row footwells. Put a 'full' size air mattress in there (for 2 people) and inflate it using the OEM inverter. This gives you a totally flat area from the inside of the hatch all the way to the back of the front seats - about 7 feet long.

Specs on the platform are: 2 sheets of 43.5" wide x 38.5" deep x 1/2" thick plywood stacked on top of each other, with 4 2"x2" slats under them. Because of the weird way lumber is sized (2" = 1.5"), this actually gives you a platform 2.5" high, which is the amount of drop in the cargo area at the middle hump. These measurements will be an exact fit to the floor so there is no slop or sliding around.

I use this for my wife and I. I am probably going to do a solo trip to Moab with my dirt bike on the back this summer, and I will probably get a twin size air mattress and leave it inflated on the passenger side of the cargo area, and have my gear on the driver's side. As it is now, I have to toss our gear into the front seats and some of it gets stored outside, under the truck (to keep it dry) since the bed consumes the entire cargo area. It's not terribly annoying to move everything around every night and every morning, but if I was solo and had more room in the back it'd be less hassle.

Well...good news! I found a (perhaps the only*) 2015 4Runner TRD Pro in Canada at a used car dealer not far from where i live...and will be picking it up in a week!image.jpg

(*4Runner TRD Pros were not sold in Canada in 2015 or 2016 - but will be in 2017)

I used to sleep in my 93 4Runner. Not ideal but definitely worked. I'm sure the 5th gen is more than adequate.
