I love Cast iron to cook with.

When it's winter nothing beats having an indoor barbeque. Although I do tend to smoke the shit out of the house when I do. :p

Lousy cell phone picture, but I finally succeeded at making waffles in this thing. First time I tried to use it I set the stove on fire! It's a Griswold waffle iron.

I have quite a collection of cast iron and dutch ovens. There are some photos of my DO cooks here and my restoration efforts are here.

Looks great! I really need to work on my bread baking skills. Every time I try it's either too crusty or too dense. The "too crusty" is probably perfect for bread bowls, I guess.

In will post mine when I use it next. Just made chicken fajitas in it last night. I don't have a lot of cast yes, just a 10 and 6 inch lodge skillets and Le Creuset enamaled dutch oven.

On the bright side, that one dutch oven is worth more than most folks' entire collection! I have a few vintage pieces I inherited that are 60-80 years old and hard to put a price on, but as for stuff I bought or was bought for me, it's probably around $200 total. You can barely touch Le Creuset anything for that.

I'm thankful it was a wedding gift from some family members who couldn't make it. I get scared when the wife starts looking at some of their stuff online. I though truck and mountain bike parts were bad.

I have to come clean...those bread bowls were "aftermarket" purchases.

Currently cooking down onions and peppers for saussage and peppers tonight.

    20170314_193115.jpg

And the other night made 2x corned beef in the Dutch Oven. Used a really tasty 2xIPA from southern tier in the boiling liquid.

I don't have pics but the wife has a few cast iron skillets and my late mother's cast iron cooker that's probably 70 plus years old. Food somehow taste better when she cooks with it.
