I honestly think you should do a hockey puck lift with a massive body lift. Why do what everybody else is doing why not be different be a trend setter. Then you could start your own build thread and explain to everybody how you set your truck up. You could call it pucks and spacers bs thread by danatoy. And you could post pics of how big of a gap you got in-between your body and frame. This would be a amazing thread for Tacoma world.

    Depends. 4wd or 2wd?
Most use a spindle lift for 2wd. A OME lift all around is what many use for 4wd. Not too expensive and it gives you what you want.

OR......you could use a spacer lift but that's frowned upon around these parts.

My advice is the same to all newcomers: read, read, read and read some more. There is a learning curve to lifting your truck. Start by reading the links ppl provided and go from there. Don't do anything until you understand what lifts do (including the ramifications they have and how to deal with those) and what lift you want.

Next, or perhaps at the same time, identify what you will do with the truck. Dirt roads? Off road? paved roads? This will play a role in your lift choice

You will also want to think about tire size. There too is a learning curve. Go too small and the lift will make your tires look goofy. Go to big and your truck will have reduced power and require a re-gear (along with other stuff, such as cutting and the like).

Hit the search button and when the specific questions come up, and they will, start posting them.

    Have fun!

Hey Danatoy, welcome to TW. I recently did a 2" lift on my 07 TRD sport (4WD). I put some slightly bigger off road tires on it and they were rubbing. 2" leveling kit (spacers, pucks, or whatever you want to call it) worked great. A lot of people knock it but I haven't had any problems and it was way cheaper than doing a full lift.
