Looking to add BSM to my Sport. I called the local dealer and asked how much if would be for them to install it. His reply after calling Toyota was that it has to come from the factory.

Anybody know if this is true or of a good after market add on?

You would probably have to find a wrecked truck with it and remove everything related to it in to install on your truck.

BSM can added but I don't know about OEM. A shop local to me has an aftermarket solution but it is slightly different from the factory version.

This looks promising, appreciate it. Called a custom shop near me today and when I'm back from traveling they said they can show me some options.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!

This probably will require special mirrors and sensors on the sides of the car -- to do this aftermarket --would be quite a undertaking as it would have to be very vehicle specific. I speak from experience from our 15 Subaru Outback --which has the factory system on it. People have added it to their Subarus -- but only with the same parts that would have been on the car from the factory. Get ready to open your wallet WIIIIDE

I wonder if this mirror option makes this idea less insane?

I’m not daunted by the wiring. And it’s trivial to her new bumper caps or a new bumper. I’m guessing there is more to this than a brain, some sensors, and the mirrors.
