@treimche, if you don't mind me asking how much do those HIDs run?

So you got the Canbus DDm plus kit? Why did you chose that over standard. Is there any additional wiring needed when ordering this over the standard kit or just plug and play?

Any issues long term with your 4500k canbus kit from DDM?

Be careful speaking like that around here! People get mad when they don't know anything about headlights and you drop facts LOL. I am getting ready to Swap mine to morimoto mini d2s 4.0 bixenon projectors and osram CBI hid bulbs. I got all my parts for a total of like $325 on black Friday sale from TRS. The bulbs usually retail alone for $180! So I couldn't pass it up.

On sale right now. I'm a DDM wholesale seller so a bit cheaper for me too ;)

I did the Plus Canbus because that's what DDM recommends for this truck. Others on the forum have used standard HID kits without issue and that's up to them. I took DDM's suggestion, plus these are a lot nicer and better quality than the standard HID kits they sell. I plan on keeping this truck for a long time so for once I did nicer HID's than in the past. There is no additional wiring at all. Just plug it all in, zip tie everything nicely in place, and light up the world. I did hi and low beams. Sure it cost an extra $100 total over their standard HIDs, but its totally worth it IMO.

He is correct ddm recommends the canbus kit but I have the regular ddm tuning plus 4500k 35w kit and it works perfectly zero problems

Tacomas don't have CANBUS systems. At all. That's a rather odd recommendation.

I have not had any issues with them so far. I have been meaning to adjust my driver's headlight since it came adjusted higher than the passenger side and normally blinds cars in their sideview mirror.

That is incorrect. Tacomas do have Canbus systems, maybe not for the headlights, but they absolutely have them for many other vehicle functions.

Correct but they do not have a canbus system that is linked to the headlamps

For example if the headlight goes out there is no computer that states that like on Mercedes and BMW

So for the lighting system it is not required

Big thanks to Scooby24, I finally completed my HID kit with harness install. IMG_1772.jpg
I had to remove my washer fluid tank because the motor/pump accidentally pulled out form the bottom when I was pulling up on it. IMG_1773.jpg IMG_1774.jpg
Once it was out I had plenty of room to bolt up the first Ballast near the passenger side headlight.
    IMG_1775.jpg IMG_1781.jpg
I drilled out the one of the ballast holes so the bolt would fit threw the hole and bolted it into place.
    IMG_1777.jpg
    IMG_1779.jpg
I moved over to the driver's side near the battery and bolted the second ballast into place after drilling out the hole on this one too. I had to use a small ratchet wrench to het to the bolt.
    IMG_1783.jpg
I separated these two wires form the HID bulbs. One of these will be used later to attach to the "switch" wire coming from your relay and connecting driver side original wire that was plugged into you halogen bulb.
    IMG_1786.jpg
The bolt near you battery is perfect for connecting the relay's ground wire and relay.
    IMG_1787.jpgIMG_1788.jpg
These photos were taken looking at the driver's headlight after the HID's were installed.

This is the box that the HID kit came in.
    IMG_1794.jpg
Finished product with HID's installed. I really like you the color matches the TRD PRO LED DRL's and Rigid Fog lights.IMG_1797.jpg IMG_1798.jpg

I went with morimoto 35watt 4500k. Great light output. 5000K would be perfect balance of color and lumens

Looks great man! I placed an order for these yesterday, can't wait to install these. They're currently out of stock of the 4300k but decided to wait a little longer for them to restock. Did you go with 4300k?

Shout out to @Scooby24 for sharing this kit with us

I called DDM today and asked about the H11B bulb.... They said their bulbs need to be modified...? Did you do this or what was your experience with this?

    Thanks...

yessir, Diode Dynamics waterproof, about $30-35. the ballasts draw 20amps on warm-up and the circuit is fused for 15, so the relay solves that.
