The only door issue I have is sometimes I have to close my back ones a little harder to close. If I don't they just get stuck in that closed but not closed state where I have to hip check it or just open and close again. Haven't had the issue you're talking about OP but hope they fix it for you.

I guess I don't understand why they can't/won't look and make sure everything is ok. Make sure that any seals there might be are in good shape.

This happened to me twice last week. In my case after opening the door from outside the handle stuck in the open position. I closed the door (that did not latch) and had to get back out to push the handle in. The second time I noticed the handle not retracting and pushed it in and out a few times and hasn't happened since. I figured it had something to do with ice as it's been pretty cold.

Twice here also. First time it happened after I cleaned all the snow off of it and went to shut the door it bounced back open instead of latching shut.

Second time I drove home, no warning indicator that the door wasn't shut, but when I got home the door would not open. Turned out to be the door handle was stuck in the outward position, like when you pull it to open the door.

It was freezing out and it got stuck. Now when it's freezing out I make sure to check and see if it's working properly. One freezing morning it stuck and I had to push/pull the handle several times before it started popping back on its own.

Seems to be when it happens to me too. Just pisses me off that the service center will do nothing. I get not just replacing parts for no reason but obviously water is getting in where it shouldn't be. Seems like that would be what needs investigating. In the end, the dealership (Metro Toyota in Cleveland) did absolutely nothing.

Back in the 80s I used to deliver pizza and we had a company delivery car which was a Chevette. The drivers door latch used to do this so you used to have to hold the drivers door closed while driving and it had a terrible water leak so there was 4 or 5 inches of water on the floor. It was quite the challenge to hold your legs straight off the floor and hold the door closed while looking for an address.

When the guy said they can't duplicate the problem I wanted to rage. No shit! It's 50+ degrees outside. You mean you can't freeze water???

yep, driver side rear on my 2013 is the same. it just takes a little more effort to close. It has always been like that. I was going to mention it to the writer on one of my free oil changes but I figured they would want it for a day and just screw it up worse

I think the service department pulled the same shit I do when I don't want to vacuum. If I just stare at it for long enough and seem frustrated with getting it to work my wife will eventually just vacuum rather than watch me struggle.

No, just the normal amount that collects since that's outside of the door seal. Should I get rid of it?
