oh no....TSB-0171-16 Driveline vibration

Anyone know what degree shims Toyota is using in the new leaf pack?

 

What kind of vibration were you experiencing before you had the TSB done?

 

Is there any place the working man can pay to rent one of those machines that Toyota uses for testing the vibrations?

 

I went to the dealer yesterday for my 15,000 mile and told them about the TSB and they told me they have to back order the parts, could be weeks or months they said.

 

I would have asked so... does that mean you are goi g to call or email when they arrive??

 

I'd like to know too. I'm willing to fix this myself if I have to.

They told me they would call when the parts come in.

 

Toyota just told me that this is normal for these Trucks and there is nothing that can be done!

 

What is the best address to send a letter to put the Manufacturer on Notice of these issues that you plan on going buy back or vehicle replacement?

 

yes I hope there is a tsb for trans slamming into gear during braking, looks very common

 

The parts came in today. They said it would take 3 to 4 hours to install the leaf springs and steering damper. It blows my mind that Toyota knows this has been an issue in the 2nd gen. And to say the 3rd gen. Is totally redesigned but have the same vibration problems boggles my mind.

 

My dealership said even if they can't fix the problem it's still be documented in the computer system. I brought the TSB in the day of my appointment and gave it the service clerk and they gave it to the mechanic.

 

That's it....time to get a Tundra

I got rid off of my '16 Limited CM in LESS than 4 months. If I have bought another Taco I may have kept it....So think again and make sure you take a LONG test drive.

 

lol I'm jk, I have no need for that big a truck and I have always wanted a Tacoma! I love it!

 

Since the 2017 and the TRD Off Road's are exempt from this TSB are the 17's to already have the damper and shims in place?

 

anyone hear have the 'clunk' sound in the rear just before
coming to a stop? didn't see a thread but could of sworn I
sow posts about it, search brought up nothing for my query.

 

I have a 2017 and they did the TSB for me during my 5K service.
