New Tacoma damaged at dealer

It doesn't hurt to try and get something out of it even if it's not necessary. Whether it's oil changes, warranty, or anything else they're willing to offer. No one should get their car damaged at the dealership, stupid mistake on their part. The worst thing they could say is no so why not try? If not no big deal.

 

At least its not like the Honda dealer that was on the news here a few months ago. Dropped a guys car off the lift writing it off, but only wanted to give him a $5000 credit towards a new vehicle for it. Even if it was a 2010 civic, car still had plenty of life and to write it off then offer a measly $5k, thats a kick in the nuts.

 

At least I grew up saying the pledge of allegiance before school everyday, respecting my elders, and don't think everything should be handed to me on a silver spoon. You can't say that about those born after about 94 or so. Things have changed a lot in a small period of time, it's crazy to group them together and say they're all the same.

 

It is crazy to group such a large demographic together and say they are all the same. That is like saying all baby boomers are bad parents for raising millennials like they did. It is funny that nobody realizes how short sighted generational bashing is. Boomers got bashed, gen x got bashed, now millennials are getting bashed. Soon millennials will be ok and the next generation will be the really terrible one. And the cycle will continue on and on and on...

I should probably stay off the interwebz as some of the shit you read on a forum is absolutely absurd. The dealer admitted to a mistake on their end and is making it right for the OP. For those that are suggesting that he DEMANDS a new truck, extended warranty, etc. can go pound sand. We're all human, we all make mistakes, regardless of how long you've been doing something. This doesn't make you entitled to anything.

OP, why don't you post a picture of the damage for us all to make our opinions?

 

if it was rolling in neutral and hit another vehicle, it has to be so minimal. broken tail light and dent to the tailgate. i bet it was such a small dent. we are not talking damage here. if it was a kid, this "boo boo" wouldn't even require a band aid. unless you wanted a Hello Kitty one maybe.

New truck? Your truck has 5000 miles it isn't new anymore. Expecting a brand new truck is absurd, come on man.

As long as it is all done in house with OEM parts you are not out in the least. You could ask them to give you some free servicing or some perk for inconveniencing you for sure.

If they are really out to please ask for the smoked tail lights from the TRD Pro. Otherwise just be happy with brand new OEM replacement parts. I wouldn't settle for anything less.

 

Never heard of a check being written for depreciation.....but definitely something to keep in mind, I guess

 

Damn straight skippy. You should definitely tell em to give you a new truck. In fact, they'd better be giving you a DCLB TRD Off Road 4x4 at MINIMUM. You tell em if they don't your gonna sue the living shit out of them. Tell em you've already got a high priced attorney on retainer. That'll scare the crap out of them.
