Looking for a good recovery Strap 30 foot length.

These are my options have not really picked a specific supplier yet though but they all are kind of the same.

2 inch width (Give or take)
About 9000lb vehicle (or continuous duty rating) with a breaking strength of around 18,000 lbs.

3 Inch width (give or take)
About 13,000 lb vehicle (or continuous duty rating) with breaking strength of around 27,000 lbs.

Any benefit on going with either one other then the obvious strengths. Do Tacomas need 3 inch ones or will 2 inch ones do the job. Thoughts? What do you all have in your recovery bags?

Look into a Bubba Roap, or similar. There are great for yanking out stuck vehicles, or to be yanked out with.

Wow those sure are expensive. I think a little out of my price range for a recovery strap.

Gear is correct in that Bubba Ropes are pretty much the gold standard but that isn't your question. I use standard snatch straps due to the cost of Bubba Rope and I use them so infrequently. So far the 18k to 20k straps have worked well for me although snatching a loaded 3/4 diesel truck from a deep mud pit may not work so well. My concern with the higher rated straps/ropes is that they are also harder to correctly load and stretch with a light truck.

A more than capable kinetic strap (or snatch strap, or recovery strap) what ever you want to call them is the ARB recovery strap. Great strap IMO. You don't want to use it (or any recovery strap) for a static pull though. But I keep an ARB strap behind my rear seat, and have used it several times.

You want your recovery strap to work dynamically - that is to stretch and recover. If it's TOO thick it doesn't stretch and transmits a larger jerk load.

Therefore, counter intuitively, in this case more and larger is NOT better. A 2" strap (in good servicable working non-damaged condition) is the right size for our trucks and a 3" 30000 lb strap is actually not as good.

I would really suggest taking a look at our Made In USA Wheeler's Recovery Straps.

If I could only have one, it would be the Wheeler's 30' x 3" strap.

Why 27,000 lbs for vehicles as light as a Tacoma?

27k is the breaking strength. It's duty rating is 13,500 lbs. From what Ive always been told, is you want the strap to be rated 3-4x the weight of the lightest vehicle, this way you get the bungee effect.

I have a regular 2" old Warn strap I have used for almost 2 decades. When it finally unravels or breaks, I'll get a kinetic recovery strap. Big bucks, yes, but worth every penny when all the other straps have broken in that " one " stuck.

Your strap is getting pretty old. I probably wouldn't want to use it on any hard pulls. Our 3"x20' Strap is just $35.00 Made in USA and is continuous duty rated at 13,500 lbs, the material itself is rated at 27,000 lbs break strength. One of the highest ratings you will find in this size strap.

I have like 5 of their straps ^. A couple of the older kind and several of the newer ones, they're all really nice. I trust them and feel good about using them and theyre relatively inexpensive compared to a lot straps out there. They're just reasonably priced for the quality you get.

I'd rather have several of these than one high dollar strap, and I do.

Also no thanks to the 2" straps. 3" is appropriate for the Tacomas.

Is there any chance you could do a group buy on your Recovery Straps? I need a 30 footer

We don't have a lot of room to work with pricing on those. They are already a great price and a great product!

I don't see any 2" wide straps on your site? Isn't a 3" on the large size for a tacoma?
