I don't have the premium tech as its only offered on the Limited here in Canada, and can't find the traffic setting for the life of me.

I know its supposed to go through the HD radio.
Mines just the regular navigation etc that comes with all of the TRD models without upgrading to premium tech JBL.

Tried searching but all I can find is about entune, so I'm starting to think this is only offered on Entune.

Looks like it's one of the apps on Entune. People have been complaining to Toyota for years to bring entune to Canada.

I tried downloading the entune APK but it needs a USA vin, so no go. Oddly I have a friend with an older Highlander and his traffic works here in Canada as long as he has XM.

Just did some investigation for us Canucks.

I downloaded the app from a mirror and not Google Play. Installed it and used a USA vin I found using the Google machine to get it to boot. Interestingly the fuel app on the phone works fine, but no new apps on the truck head unit. So this is a bust, I think us Canadians are hooped until Toyota let's us have access as my guess is since my vin wasn't able to be added to the app and I had to use a USA one to get the app to start it can't linked to the truck.

While it is something to be bummed about as a missing (potential) feature, I wouldn't get too bummed about it. It useless in the areas I drive. I could be completely stopped in traffic and it still telling me that traffic is free flowing. I think the data it gets is completely inaccurate.

Maybe it's different in other areas?

Entune traffic is next to useless.

I guess it's nice to have for the sake of it, but I only use Waze anyway

It's been reasonably accurate here in Atlanta for the times and places I drive. Not perfect of course, but neither have Waze or Google Maps traffic.

Beats the snot out of the SiriusXM traffic I've experienced in other vehicles.
