Just starting a build on my 2017 TRDOR. Went with Headstrong 5100s 887 and AAL. The truck went up 2.25 in the back and 2.75 in the front. It seems the front tires have a lot more Camber. Will fit tires later this week. BFG KO2's at 275/70R17. Then can get an alignment.

Front end was too tall with 887. Should have done a shorter spring. Tough to get the alignment right but even then would have had trouble with the tires scrubbing when articulating through the normal arc going down the road. So we put the 5100's on the first notch up with the original front springs. Ended up with about 1.5 inches of lift in the front.

Then got the KO2's in 275/70R17 and American Racing Baja Black rims. The original lugs didn't do more than 5 turns, so Tread Depot sent out some ET lugs and they worked great.

I am very interested to know what you think of the ride with the KO2's and 5100's. Looks great!

Too much front lift. I was hoping for 2" at the most. I will be putting original springs back on to prevent scrubbing of the tires. The front also appears to sit higher than the back so will bring that back in line.

I did get the 385/70r17's and new AR black bajas on. Look amazing.

Those 887s will settle if you give them a couple more weeks. Mine settled about .5" lower than where they started at. Are your front bilsteins on the bottom notch?

    Preset at 0.

Took it in to the mechanic who was going to do the alignment and he is still concerned it is too much without changing UCAs.

Wheels also didn't leave more than 5 1/2 full turns to torque to 90. Getting new studs put in.

I have the exact same lift as you, its been on for about a month now. I haven't measured the height but it has about the same amount of rake as stock, front is maybe .5" lower than the rear. I also have the 275 kO2s on 17x8 0 offset wheels, no rubbing so far.

Installed Mobtown front skid, sliders and rear bumper. With the above suspension and 275/75 17 KOII's I have 38.75 at wheel arch in the back and 37.25 in the front. ARE topper and rack from PrInSu and Mobtown transmission skid are next.

@tfree Did you measure before and after.

After settling, I got 1 1/2" lift with 5100's on the bottom setting with 885's

With the 5100s up one notch and stock springs I got about 1.5 inches. Tires gave me 1 inch. Front lost 3/4 inch from armor. Rear lost 1.25 inches from armor with the add a leaf and 5100s set at stock height. So rear is still 1 3/4 higher. Will settle more with topper and rack on top.

Guess I'm confused, a little slow this morning. After the install of the 887 and 5100 set to 0 the truck did not want to align using stock UCA? Also, did you ever give the truck time to settle before going back to the stock springs? If you think about it maybe a full on side shot of the current setup would be helpful....Thanks!

so you are adding all that weight to the truck and not going to use the 887 front springs?

lighting is terrible right now. Sorry about the images.

So I went from 35" in the front and 37.5" in the back to 38.75 in the rear and 37.25 in the front. This is how I got there:

    1. Tried the 887 springs and AAL with and gen 5100s all around and was too high (about 40" front and rear).
    2. Went back to stock spring in the front and left the AAL in. Increased front shock to one notch above stock height.
    3. Added 275/70 17 BFG TKO2s.
    4. Added armor.

Ride is now perfect. Height is pretty good. If it sat a touch lower it would be okay. Topper and roof rack should level it out nicely.

You can see a little better with that editing.

    Answers to questions:

Brokinarrow, I did not use the 887's. Maybe in the future? If someone wants them cheap I'll part with them.
dYL0n, no problem with CV angles. I'm up a total of 2.25" in the front, but at least an inch of that is sidewall on the tire. If I was running stock tires it wouldn't be nearly as noticeable. Nothing rubs or is stressed.
Diablo169 1.5" with 885 sounds about right, and I might go back to that spring so my shock could be at the lowest setting. I want to wait until the rest of the heavy stuff is added.
Blktre, it's not you, I sometimes assume every has information I haven't given as I skip steps in my explanations. Side shot is for you. Will get better one if you want when it's not parked there. Hard to believe I teach as part of my job. :)

Now I'm worried I just received my lift kit today from Headstrong. I told her I wanted 2 inches front and back and they shipped me the 887's with 2nd generation Bilsteins and AAL's. I didn't want a 2 3/4 lift with aliment problems.

I have the same setup. I got 2" in the front after it settled.

For the rear I have HS 3 leaf AAL. Got 1.5 out back by removing the overload leaf. With the overload in you should get a full 2".

Had the truck aligned yesterday with no problems.
