I took mine when my maintenance light popped on around 5k and the dealer told me the oil was fine and let me run it to 10K miles before they changed the oil

Well that was just BS! This is supposed to be the first systems check and oil Change! They got paid to change that oil and didn't spend the money for the oil!

Can you please reference where there's a 5K change interval for normal operating conditions on a third gen?

It could have been as innocent as the fact they would need to enter his information in to thier system. Name address vehicle Vin etc. Is that not a reason to ask if it was bought there?

He said $499 installed for the Tom woods double cardan one piece driveshaft. Said I owe him $265 for taking everything apart inspecting and reinstalling.

Not a terrible price for the drive shaft, but before you spend that, take a picture of it installed, specifically the CV joints. Never heard of them binding and causing issues but my experience with drop bracket lifts is somewhat limited

You mean a picture of the driveshaft that's on there now? Because instead of him reinstalling like he was going to do and have me drive all the way back down there to pick it up then bring it back down there again and drop it off and I need a ride both times both ways which has been a pain in the ass I said why don't you just keep it there get the drive shaft and install it while the other one is out.

I remember somebody telling me about the single piece driveshaft when I first started this build. Might have been the guy who put the lift on. Didn't know that it would end up needing to be done but I wasn't against it at the time if I do need it I think they have a good reputation.

I just got mines yesterday too. It took a while because they had a lot of orders and then USPS delayed my package and MLK holiday didn't help it come faster. You'll be so happy when you get them though lol

ordered mine before the new year btw

A question...maybe should be under 'What are you going to do to your 3rd Generation'....
I have a 2016 Tacoma DBL cab, TRD OR.
I did send a email to Marie at Headstrong this morning.

I bought some Bilsteins 5100 3rd generation, for front and back.
I assume I would set the front Bilsteins to the 2nd notch = 0.65", to level out my truck?

For reference I rarely go-off road except sand and my goal of sorts is a better ride via the Bilsteins and at best a 1" lift with leveling.
Any input and /or real life experience greatly appreciated!
