You guys need to get the fuck outta here with the cell phone/texting blaming crap. Before cell phones there were, and continue to be, plenty of other ways to be distracted (passengers, radio, etc) and there is no evidence of increased accident rates due to prevalence of cell phones. People have always screwed up when driving, it's just now that you morons started seeing people on cell phones doing the same dumb stuff they always did you blame the phone and get politicians to put laws in place to appease your narrow minded thinking. Seriously STFU.

I'm sorry it happened OP. You screwed up and it happens to the best of us. I haven't been in your situation but I'd be lying if I said there hasn't been a time or two where I had a near miss that was absolutely my responsibility and only sheer luck dictated that an accident did not result.

I hope you make out okay with the insurance and I hope youre okay. I admit I couldn't force myself to read all of this so I hope no one was seriously hurt. If my truck is ever wrecked, except for maybe being hit by an asteroid,I ain't posting it on TW.

My truck is still in the shop and scheduled to be complete sometime next week. The current amount of damage is at $11,500. The insurance company somehow valued it at $20,000 so they're fixing it. I decided to use this as an opportunity for a few upgrades..new wheels, tires and shocks on all 4 corners. I just got 5100s so I'll level the front out a bit and leave the rear alone for now.

I wrecked my 07 in 2011 or 12 with 58k miles on it. Ran into a snow squall and hit an interstate bridge side with the front, then spun and it it with the rear. The front end looked similar to yours. The grill and bumper were gone, one fender and a headlight, and one of the crumple zones was..crumpled.There was no damage to the hood or radiator and stuff like yours. One bed side was damaged, there was a tiny crack in the composite so they had to replace the whole bed. Also the rear bumper was replaced, plus i think a small dent in the back of the cab where the bed ran into it. Insurance estimate was $12,500, truck was valued at $22k, and after 40 days in the body shop and all was said and done, it ended up being $17k in total work done. I guess it should have been totaled by that time but I suppose since they were already balls deep they just went ahead and let them finish the repairs despite the cost increases.

I would have called yours totaled based on the pics.

OP: Glad you were okay and glad that your truck wasn't totaled out.

Shit happens and that's why insurance actually is nice to have. Guess you need to start a build thread for all the fun new stuff you're going to put on it... Going to get a steel bumper? :D

The air bag clock spring had to be replaced right off the bat. I thought it was odd since it didn't deploy. Other than that it's been great, until last year when my driver side axle started leaking. The shop replaced it twice and it dripped even worse. They eventually figured out the dealership had put the wrong one on the truck during the repair, which I guess worked out ok, but they also found out that the seal that goes on with it needs to be toyota brand. they tried advance and napa seals with no help, and it got so frustrating they actually took it to a local dealership to find that out. They said when their guy scoffed at the recommendation for the toyota seal the toyota tech went and got a box full of aftermarket seals he had replaced. Keep that in mind..lol

No steel bumper for me...I may wind up doing 885s and an aal down the road but don't feel like messing with the uca's right now.

Thanks for the reply @Rushbrook that's reassuring. I want to keep this thing forever and am hoping that it's close to how it was before I tore it up. The shop it's at has a good reputation and I'm hoping they can make it right again.
