Im guessing this is on a sticky or a how to thread, no prob just direct me. anyhow heres the pickle my new led headlamps have a big honkin housing for their transformer, circuits, cooling fins and fan thus i cant get the rubber boot round the lamp and even if i did id have to figure out how not to cover or impede air flow to the fins or fan. Has any one made a aftermarket boot or is their a clever way of insulating humidity or water from getting in the Toyo lamp housing like it came from factory ?

When i put leds in mine, the front part of the bulb twisted apart so you didnt have to modify the rubber boot to get them in. I figured this out after i cut them of course

There are LED headlights like Philips that are specifically designed to allow for the use and proper seal of the OEM boot. Improperly designed LEDs with cooling fans like that usually say to not reinstall the boot in the instructions. Your options are to run bootless, or cut your boot to fit, unfortunately both usually result in moisture in the headlight. If you run bootless, you can at least put the boots back on if you buy a different light set later, and not have to buy new boots as well.

    The Philips LEDs do that.

cliped the new leds in with no boot and i could see air gaps where water and moisture can creep into the housing foging up and wearing out the leds prematurely. so.....

I broke out some Ideal Elecrical Duct Seal I had laying in my tool box its esentialy playdoh for electrical boxes to keep moisure out of electrical boxes and the penetrations behind or near them. think- another form of silicone or foam but this stuff is like playdoh you can form it how you need it its water, sun & freeze proof & non conductive or toxic holds its shape for years. i rolled some pieces and wrapped around te paperclip area careful not to cover any fins or fans, done. That was my idea again i had it laying around if theres a better way please let me know.
