Just as the title states: 'What do you use to edit your pictures?'
I'm new to photography. Heck I still haven't purchased a camera, lense/s, SD card, etc. Still trying to figure that out as well. New vs used, DSLR vs Mirrorless, no clue on features needed vs too much.

But I would think the camera set up is just the first stop in equipment. You guys are doing some computer work/editing after the picture is taken correct? What, if any, software/programs are a must have?
I'm not looking to be on pro level right out of the gates, but would like to be headed in the right direction.

Look for a cheap used camera to start. The cheaper the camera the slower; meaning not much good in low light situations or fast action. Maybe you can take a class at your local community college.

Lightroom for the win. Way more user friendly than photoshop and a great place to start and learn the basics. Lots of videos on youtube to learn little tips and tricks as well. I think it's like $10 a month for a Lightroom/Photoshop bundle from Adobe.

Picassa is pretty good for basics like straightening a photo, cropping and adjusting lighting and contrast and is a free download.

I'm fairly new to photography and I shoot in RAW and edit mainly in Lightroom. I'm going to need to learn Photoshop if I'm going to get deep into portrait work.

Mainly photoshop. It has full RAW controllers and instantly goes into photoshop so I can do all my tweeks. Only time I use lightroom is if I'm doing multiple photos that need quick editing with no touch up.
