...^^^... Can't buy a house in your name ... must be in a Thai's name ... new law lets you buy a condo though.

They don't want foreigners buying up their county ... condo owners tend to resell and not keep the property in the family for long periods of time.

I'm hoping to visit Thailand within the next few years. I scuba dive so I'd love to do a few days diving and then rent a bike and do a tour around. Two weeks is about the max I can get time off but it's a start.

60.000 for a condo up to what ever you want to spend. You can't buy a house in your name because of foreign ownership rules. It has to be in a corporation name. The prices are dropping right now I expect them to go lower in the next year.
