Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Normally I'd say warped rotors, but not with 4,000 miles unless you've really been abusing the brakes.

Just got back from the dealership. They said there are no codes and they do not have a '14 with similar brake system to compare to so there was nothing they could do. I asked for the service manager. She had a second mechanic look at it and he was unable to determine if anything was wrong. So the manager wants to have their Tech Serv Rep look at it when he is in town the next couple of weeks. They will also see if they can compare to another '14 if one comes in. This problem just started 5 days ago (4K miles). I never noticed the vibration before. Now it happens every other time I press the pedal and is directly related to the electronic hydraulic booster (not sure the tech name). This does not seem "normal."

Just had my brakes flushed and there was indeed air in the line. The problem is still there, but I'll have to deal with it.

I think all 4 runner 2005 and up come with this system. My wife 2006 4 runner has it and it doesn't show any kind of problem. Look for a ABS fuse and take it off to see if ABS is the problem, if it does, look at abs cable sensor in front wheel to see if something is broken or disconected.!

I took my truck back to the dealership I bought it from in Ventura. A field tech specialist took a look at it. They said they were going to replace the entire actuator or accumulator assembly (about $2,000 covered under warranty). Should have it back tomorrow.

Hey guys, I am wondering if altitude and/or temperature is a causing factor for this vibration. I went up to the summet of Mauna Kea (14,000ft) today, and started to notice the buzz when I started to leave the summet after watching the sunrise. It was a chilly 36 degrees. After reading all of the posts, it seems like a bunch of the same people are describing the same buzz/vibration sound/feel that I am. It never happened before, and I'm wondering if the altitude and cold were the cause. Hopefully Toyota looks deeper into this and issues a recall because it is definitely NOT normal. My truck is. 2012 TRD Off Road. If anyone gets a clear answer on how to fix, please chime in, there are people who would love to know.

Hi guys, started experiencing the same problem on my 2014 dcsb 4x4. Very annoying. I'm about to hit 50k so I don't think it's covered under warranty. Do you guys have any advice? Thanks

Bringing back a very old thread, but this is happening to my 05 dcsb sr5 (actuator vibrating every 2-3 brake presses).

Not sure why i have this electronic system in my truck (05 DCSB SR5), but never the less, I am having the exact same problem in my truck.
It started to do it when i got my truck back from the dealer for the frame replacement.

I posted the question in the forum, but no one seems to have this problem. Here is my thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hydraulic-brake-booster-question.323307/

Anyway its at the dealer now and they are calling toyota on monday because they did another full bleed and the problem is still there.
Has anyone found out what the culprit to this is so I can relay the info to them? I really need to find an answer while its still at at the dealer.

    thanks

Just a quick update. I parked the truck on a slight downward slope. With the engine turned off I kept pumping the break pedal. Then with the pedal fully depressed I turned on the engine. The break made a large vibration and since then the problem's been gone.

thanks, i will do that if they try and send me home from the dealer and tell me its "normal". Id like to find the real answer to this because it was def not there prior to the frame replacement.

One can never have too many light bars.
Have them measure the rotors to see if they're warped. Unless you've driven like you're in the Indy 500 there's no way they should be warped.

It happens when the truck is in in park. Abs module will cycle every three times i press on the brakes. Not related to rotors, brake pads or anything like that.

Year old thread revival. Any updates on this issue. I'm having the same problem with my truck. Dealer said it 100% normal.

Dealer replaced mine free after a month of arguing... My unit was cycling way too much (every time i pressed the pedal) and now it just cycles when the truck turns on and sometimes while driving. The new one is 100% less noisy also. My old one was loud and the vibration could be felt strong in the pedal. The new one is way less noticeable in the pedal and quiet. The dealer cost was like $1500. I really wish I had the regular vacuum brake booster to avoid all these problems and be able to bleed the brakes easily. This brake booster system is confusing and not easy to bleed.
