Are there any affordable rock sliders out there (under say $400 or so)?

I know that drill well! I used bedliner but that POR looks good too.

So I read that only difference from 2nd Gen sliders and 3rd Gen sliders are 1 bolt more for the front of the 3rd gen chassis. Charge 20$ more for the 3rd Gen sliders. Why?

 

Not on our sliders there is a scab plate welded on the new frames we make a plate that fits around the scab plates teamed with offset legs for a nice fit

I came across these guys and I'm not a fan of the mounting method but might work but not take full on abuse.

so here's the next question...some love welding since its a stronger connection. I get that BUT you've now made an essentially permanent change that will impact resale (to say otherwise is pretty nuts unless its being sold to an enthusiast since if you use them for the intended purpose, they'll look like bung by the time you sell the truck). On the other hand, you could bolt on BUT you run the risk of rusting a frame that is already prone to that issue if you live in the North. Seems like a Catch 22 since doing nothing and wheeling will inevitably change your rig permanently in a likely involuntary way as well. So that said, what to do?

 

I'm likely ordering these so thanks for the validation, I need it!

 

One more question...does anybody run their sliders unpainted?

 

I would think they would rust rather quickly!!! When if I ever plan to put some on I'll be painting them with POR15 and then follow it up with some decent rattle can paint so I can touch up if needed. Good luck with what you decide to do.

grinder with a cutting wheel will remove welded on sliders in a hurry. I beat the S##t outta my sliders by 4x innovations. They've taken abuse from wheeling all over the east coast, west coast and many states in between. Its a tough product to beat. With that said @JLee Jerry with Bamf makes an amazing product and knows his shit. I wouldn't hesitate to put any of his fab work on my rig. One other fabricator I think you should look at is brute force fab. Billy makes some of the best bang for your buck that you can get.

 

Thanks. The BAMF stuff is beautiful but out of my price range I think. The Brute Force stuff seems good too so looking like that may be in the hunt with 4X. 4X estimates shipping at $68 which may make that the winner!

 

Are there any vendors in Phoenix? I am looking for the same thing, but man every place shipping is a killer
