Im guessing at one point most manufactures will have a turbo or two. With that said, my buddies EcoF150 drinks fuel above 70mph or at least he complains of the reduction in mpg. Seems 70mph is the sweet spot according to him.

There are piles of 11 yr old chevy trucks out there. Yes they rattle, no they do not hold their value, but those things will go forever and parts are dirt cheap.

Toyota needs to upgrade their engines. It's a pretty sorry lineup imo right now. The 4.6 is probably the best they have, the 5.7 is behind competitors. 3.5 is nothing special. 4.0 in the 4runner is about to be discontinued. Hopefully they have a new lineup to come.

The driver in me would rather see 300 Ft Lbs of Torque at low RPMs.

Those are some impressive numbers from the new Colorado. The new 8-speed transmission must have some nice gearing down low. I really wish Toyota would put their 8-speed transmission in the Tacoma already.

Those Tacoma numbers are the worst I've seen anywhere on the internet. Motortrend's tests put their TRDOR 4x4 Tacoma at 7.1 seconds 0-60 and a 15.4 second quarter mile. I'd like to see them also test the new Colorado with their same methodology.

Im coming from a 98 2500 Ram V10. That thing could pull a stump out of the ground. So im in your camp wanting to see more torque in the lower rpm bands.

An 8-speed transmission would allow for more torque at lower speeds, which is what everyone actually wants. The RPM thing is a red herring, because you only really care about torque at the wheels.

seriously what is with all this complaining about speed with them?
Its a truck for fuck sakes, not a BMW M5
If you want speed buy a sports car.
