Yeah, not crazy about the RJ's, it is a 900 though. It gave me the best arrival/departure times in Milan so I could maximize my time there and the ability to connect in a country that speaks English which was a plus. For some reason I wasn't able to finalize my transaction on the Delta website and had to end up booking over the phone. It turned out to be a plus though because the girl placed me in whatever seat I wanted for all 4 legs and it didn't cost me a thing, as opposed to $30 online.

I may try and fly into Rome when I go back in April and spend a weekend with the GF there. She also said there are a few good beach day trips that you can do from Florence.

RJ's don't bother me. Especially if I get a seat in a single aisle. The E175 is new and pretty nice for an RJ also

I've just never rode on one that didn't feel & sound like it was about to come apart.

That said, I like the look of some like a BAE146.

So i'm in Marion Il for work, and have noticed this guy flying to and from work in his R44.

Today I got to watch him as he came in for a landing. He came down over the big lot to the left and began to Taxi over to where he is landed in the picture(I had assumed he was a skilled pilot by where he taxied it to before. It is very close to the building!). I watching him stop just in front of the blue dumpster, hovering about 10ft off the ground. The lids to the dumpster were hanging open, and were flapping in the wind. This guy decided to play a little game, and used his rotor wash to close both lids on the dumpster before hovering over to his landing spot. It was the single coolest I have seen from a private pilot, ever. Once his rotors stopped spinning, he hopped out, and sauntered on over to the back door of his shop like nothing happened. I can hear him taking off right now as i'm typing this hahaha

What speed do you normally cruise at in that plane?

This is from last weekend, but I had a pretty nice tailwind on my way back to Arkansas for the start of the Spring semester. Pretty good groundspeed for the old straight legged Cardinal at 65% power!

The ones I'm on are CRJ's so they're 2+2, I picked windows on the RJ's and aisles on the transatlantics. I figure I'll be ready to sleep on the RJ return leg

The last one I was on the flight attendants were moving people around for weight. I haven't seen that since the EMB-120 days!

Nope. We cruise the same. I was just curious as I saw a 680 below us today and according to FlightRadar24 it had 20 kts on us. I wasn't sure if that was airspeed or winds for the difference.

Probably wind. It's been strong in the upper 30's flight levels. At least where I have been. It's not common that I pass a Gulfstream.

Unfortunately, the majority of my experiences on Southwest have been fuller flights. Though I have perfected my unpleasant face to keep people out of the middle seat!

...^^^... Creepy looking fixed wing ... don't like the "visual" of this aircraft  ... maybe I am too old school.

Something about the ... "engines to wings to cabin ratios" ... that look weird.

With that said, I am not a fan of smaller twin rear mounted engines and skinny wings and looong cabins on any commercial aircraft ... all of them just look weird to me ... but I am not an aircraft engineer either.

Maybe that's why I have drifted back to biplanes now :)

It had a Brazilian, which makes everything look bigger than it is.
