    Hey guys,

I have a 16 Tacoma and I've run into an issue now twice where the running lights are stuck on despite the switches being turned to off and the vehicle not running. I had to disconnect the battery last time to get things running properly- worked for 6 months and then did it again today.

I do have Opt-7 LED headlights- but these are the factory LEDs that are stuck on not my headlights so I'm not sure if that's related.

Has anyone run into this issue or have a possible fix for it?

Try locking the truck and check it after a few minutes. The lights might be programmed on the head unit/dash to stay on for longer than you want. That's the best I got.

I wish it was that simple. Left it on a good hour. We just went an pulled any relay or fuse that could possibly be related and still couldnt get them to shut off without disconnecting the battery. Disconnected battery and back to normal now...

There has been a few problems with aftermarket lights. Not just on the Tacoma.

But its not the aftermarket headlights stuck on, Its the driving lights- side markers, rear lights, and the eyelid part on the Sport 16

    Update:
We just pulled all the fuses and relays to see if it was a relay stuck. The lights still did not turn off. Disconnected the battery and everything is back to normal now. Any ideas?

I would say take it to the dealer, but since you did the headlights . . . well let us know how it works out. It sucks you can't turn off the lights. Definitely a battery killer if you don't catch it.

Put your factory bulbs back in before taking it to the dealer.

Could possibly be a case of corrosion on the trailer light harness. Found a thread about a tundra doing the same and it was trailer harness

Also have rigid fogs, unfortunately not just an easy swap.

It would be easier to diagnose the problem if he brought the truck in as is.

Did you figure out the cause of this? Mine just did the same thing today. I pulled the battery terminal and it's fine for now but don't want it to happen again. I have all factory lights

Used a battery charger to jump it, started 10 amp/deep cycle for 10 min then switched to 50 amp and it started, gonna bring it to my mechanic next week as it needs other things done
