I have killed 2 engines in my youth due to bad oil maintenance. my suggestion is if you can hear a knocking STOP DRIVING as you are only bagging metal on metal and will cause serious damage especially if you could not get it started at the shop.

A run to your local auto parts store for 12 quarts of oil, oil pan, 2 oil filters and a bottle of Marvels Mystery Oil. Get under the truck drain oil for an oil change (there are YouTube videos if you do not know how). Let it drain all the way before you put the drain plug back in. Add The 4 quarts of oil and the Marvels and then start it up. Hopefully the knocking will stop it does not shut the truck down and tow it to a good shop because you might have a bad rod. If the knocking is gone every morning top of the oil as it will go down as the Marvels starts to clean the engine. Put about 500 miles on it and then do the oil change again if it all goes right you will have flushed the engine of the sludge have a quart of oil to carry in your truck.

    Good luck
