As the title states, I want to pull the trigger once and for all on new suspension. Does anyone here have any experience with the OME kit? I know the FOX is tried and true as well as badass but the OME is calling my name since its not the complete "go to". Price isn't really a concern because both setup's will be close in price. Any insight would be appreciated. I have searched so don't hate, just help! Thank you in advance TW community.

That is actually pretty helpful. I love that the bump stop is integrated!

I can't find anywhere that has them yet (reputable). Bummer.

Edit. Damn, I see "Spring 2017". Gr.. I guess I could throw my RC 3" lift on to keep me busy until then.

I was just about to ask the same thing.....
I wore out my OME nitrochargers and went to 33s....
    And I'm upgrading the shocks...
So I'm torn between the BP-51 and Fox 2.5 dsc....

This is a do it all adventure truck build, 1-2 day overlanding and week long adventures, but I like to drive fast...
So I do carry some gear but for now keeping the weight down...

I like the adjustability, built in by pass and "corrosion protection" of the BP-51...
But am I just going to wish I had the fox shocks when I hit the dunes or are the BP good enough??

The Fox shocks have more travel and are tried and true and I may go to 12" shocks in the back...

As a do it all shock the BP-51s should be better but are they good enough in the rough stuff??

Do the BP-51 hold up better to corrosion???

I think 90% of the time the BPs will be great, it's the 10% I'm worried about and don't want to have to up grade again....

Interesting. I was leaning toward the OME Heavy Load with Nitrochargers. But I also eyed the BP-51. I am curious on those as well.

Should be getting my BP 51 setup in a few days with Light racing UCA's. I will let you guys know know how they turn out.

My build is for overlanding and the BP-51s fit the bill for me as far as adjustability, especially as the load I carry changes based on adventure.

i would think the little bit of travel you would loose would be out weighed by having bypass as far as smoothing out landings.

    In progress... oh boy
Few things to note with the shocks mentioned

    Bp-51 have a 3 year warranty
Fox tends to be 1 year
(King is 1 year limited although they usually take care of you)
    Bilstein varies

If you are in the salt belt or a northern climate then the Bp-51 has better corrosion resistance properties (ADS is the best here)

If you are wanting full articulation of suspension. FOX (or anything that is extended travel and has long length rear shocks)
The Bp-51 is a shorter length shock. This is true of most of OME suspension components. This is to prevent wear on your vehicle. Your rear shock is effectively a limit strap for your springs.

    Ability to adjust. Depends
Fox front can adjust front height while on the vehicle while Bp-51 can not. You will also need a spring compressor to adjust Bp-51.
Bp-51 can adjust damping and rebound while mounted while Fox only has adjustment for overall soft or firm. This means that it is easier to set up your suspension how you like it with Bp-51 and then adjust it as needed when you have more weight.

    Cost
Bp-51 is less -this is because you get a full leaf pack with them at the included price. You also 'may' not require new UCA, Break lines... (Fox will definitely require more parts)
I found once I added a Potential UCA to the BP-51 the cost was still considerably less then the full fox with UCA and full leaf pack. I did not price in Break lines or bump stops or other items that may be required.
*****however***** a good sale can change the cost comparison. I found that with fox and OME on sale the OME was still priced better.

What is going to ride better?????
Its all in your seat and how you drive. If you are afraid in the fast stuff for the OME and this is a real concern then go FOX. Either will do what you need and probably more. They each do something a bit better then the other. Generally I would think OME is better for over landing and Fox better at higher speed but different people will say different things. Both are great systems.

Anyone have any input on the BP51s....
Are they good enough in the rough stuff???

I just put on my intake and next up is new upper control arms and shocks.

I go to the dunes twice a year are the BP51s going to be enough or get the Fox DSC shocks???

I went from King front Co's, allpro standard leafs, and Fox remote resevior 2.0 rears to bp 51 and dakar leafs... Street and snow wheeling so far, no regrets! I am waiting to blast a forest service road at 50+ to see how they hold up at speed though. I really notice a difference with the compression adjustment range on the rear shocks, it's noticeable on the fronts but just not as much.

I have the BP-51 kit in my '17 Tacoma and absolutely love it. for the way I use my truck it's the perfect balance of performance and cost. I am using the truck as a DD/camping rig, and I have no need for a long travel suspension. I like the adjustability of the BP-51 and the ability to package a bypass shock in the stock location.
