My check engine light and trac off light came on two days ago on a cold wet day , I couldn't go over 2000 RPMs
I YouTube the code P2442 and found the video on how to take the secondary air pump apart .
    It was pretty easy .
I found some water inside the pump ,cleaned it all up put it all back together disconnected my battery so I can clear my code .
And now my car is running fine.
Hopefully this information can save you a couple hundred dollars
    In repair

Your codes are most likely going to return, the valves themselves are what starts to fail. There are some good threads on here concerning the issue. If your lucky maybe this will work for you but know that the codes may come back and plac the truck in limp mode again.

May last a while, but the issue is still there.

Well ... you were right ..got this P2442 code back today ..
So I guess the next step is to replace the valve I assume ..
    Any other suggestions ?

    You actually have two options:

    1. Fix it back to stock.

    2. Install the bypass modification. Search on the site.

Like Jimmyh said replace valves and then order a bypass so you wont have the issue again. Sucks that it came back but we knew it would that's why we were giving you a heads up so hopefully you didn't get stuck to far from home in limp mode.

Has anyone purchased this bypass for the Air injector system? Just curious if it is a worthwhile purchase and if it will still pass emission tests?

I did, regretted it. The seller wouldn't contact me anymore after he had my money, but apparently the new ones don't have any issues. I would just fix the pump / valves.
