I never ran the lift without them. I'm sure I would've had problems.

There's no need to remove the drive shaft just to check the u joints. Just make sure you put the Ebrake on and put your truck in neutral. Try twisting each side, as well as pushing up/down and side to side. It doesn't take much play to cause vibrations.

I just changed two of my u joints today. (would have done all three, but the parts place only had 2 in stock, and I was in a hurry)

Thanks, I'll pick some up tomorrow and give it a try. I have a buddy that has a 2002 and has a 3" lift and added the washers.

update, I installed 6 washers per side and took it for a test drive, was able to get up to 80mph. No vibration. Went to work, drove fine, got off work, now has slight vibration when slowing down around 30mph. I'm going to add 1 more washer per side and see if that helps.

I can't remember it was not much dang I had it and forgot but here's where to get it from, the only and I mean only place I could find it with this brand but like others have said you can get them other places. I just liked this one because it came with everything I needed the longer bolt and washers and lock. But it for sure got rid of shutter feels like I got more power back to be honest. But I could be crazy.

Just wondering, you didn't un-bolt any of the caps from the u-joints? A bearing could fall down when the cap is off causing the joint to not be centered when installed.

I'm close to having it figured out. The driveshaft was not aligned correctly, I aligned the driveshaft and working on the measurement of the spacers to get rid of this vibration. I have 3 washers per side, think I'll add 1 more.

The first photo in dhannah's post from yesterday shows the split washer between the bolt and the elongated slot in the bracket. If I were doing it, I would verify that a slotted washer is indeed required. If so, I would put a flat washer against the elongated slot. That will prevent one of the elongated washer's ends from dropping into the slot and losing its "lock" ability.
