Don't forget there maybe added expense of exhaust work to connect catalytic converter

    I'll give my opinion:
The stock cast manifold is junk and will crack again.

Usually cheaper exhausts like the one you posted have a lot of minor fitment issues. The main problem being that the gaskets won't seal right and will leak. The ones you posted look a lot like a pacesetter brand that a lot of people on here complain about. Overall they seem hit or miss.

The money find would be to find the exhaust headers found on the 2001+ Tacoma's. They are referred to as mini flow headers. They are a much better design. I bought one on here from another member because my cast manifold cracked like yours and it fits right up and works great.

Not telling you what to do one way or another. Just my 2 cents.

I can check to see if my buddy has the 2001+ exhaust manifold. I'll be at his compound to pick up some other parts tomorrow.

I'd go with your advice if someone on the forum has one lying around. Coz the likelihood of finding one on a scrapyard here is negligible.

Here is the same exhaust with more information. The brand is Black Race Racing (pretty funny name) and I like the fact that it is specifically for my engine. My exhaust no longer has a catalytic converter so fitting should be easy.

I also found this exhaust from a brand named Speed Daddy. But stainless steel for an exhaust?

Eventually I figured out I could get my arm in at a certain angle reaching a lot further. The sharp edges combined with fuel residue made it very unpleasant on my upper arm. Nasty work really. But all the frustration this problem had given me kept me going.

Stainless steel would be awesome for durability. They'll prolly blue a bit and get those heat markings. But last forever. Decent price on the stainless? If so, I'd do it. Well maybe I wouldn't, I'm that lame, boring OEM fanboy dude... :D unless the aftermarket product performs as well or better, AND is as durable and as long lasting OEM..... Only then, might I consider aftermarket.

I immediately notice on the picture that it won't connect to my exhaust gas relay. I could block that off I suppose

so from where the header connects with the down pipe all the way to the exhaust is one solid piece?

Yes exactly. I haven't found any 2001-'04 header so I'll probably go with the stainless steel since it involves welding work regardless.

The saga continues. Only after three months of driving pleasure my fuel pump is broken again. Only this time it was clean as new. So the problem that has broken 4 fuel pumps lies somewhere else.
Before breaking down I got the usual 0401 and 0171 codes but I didn't think too much of it because my newly fitted exhaust leaks a little especially when cold. What was bothering me (and very counterintuitive to a supposedly lean running system) was that my car consumed massive amounts of fuel. As in say 2/3 higher than normal. I thought I had a leak somewhere in the system but found none.
And now a broken fuel pump again and I'm clueless.
