looking for some help on a power Window problem for my Taco. I've searched the forum and google without much luck. I've found plenty of general info but looking for specifics on the 2011 model.

Yesterday went to lower the passenger window and heard a loud pop. Window goes all the way down and back up, but it's tilted and doesn't close all the way. Seems it's somehow off it's track.

Can anyone point me in the right direction concerning disassembly or replacement. Thanks.

Open it up and check. Your window regulator is probably broken. Rarely do window regulators go off track and not be broken unless it was replaced before and was installed incorrectly.

Probably broke where it holds window to regulator.

Anyone successfully do this? The Forward clip broke on mine. I have the clips above, but have hesitated attempting to pull the glass.

Anyone have a manual, or link that shows a late 2nd Gen Toyota, window removal. I've looked at the generic ones on YouTube but desire something more in line with my vehicle.

it's straight forward. remove the door card, remove the clear plastic, put the window down until you see the bolts on the regulator, remove the bolts, clean the glue on the original clip off with a razor blade. clean the window, use urethane caulking or urethane glass adhesive.

5 minutes to remove the card

5 minutes to take out the window

20 minutes to clean like an anal ocd person

5 minutes to add the new adhesive and put the clip back on

5 minutes to put the window back in without the adhesive getting on stuff and then sliding the regulator exactly where i want it.

if you can't do this in under an hour, you're really overthinking the entire process.

as far as clips go, make sure you have the ones that are not threaded. otherwise you're going to waste some time using a dremel to completely grind out the nut.

I believe my window has this same issue. Heard a sharp pop sound and now window goes up and down crooked unless I hold it straight. Clips ordered and found this video that is super helpful:

I had a similar problem, my door over extended and stretched the door stop.
When the door was closed after that it hit the track that the window sits in and bent it. Led to the actuator literally tearing apart inside the door.

Finally found some time to dive into this. Sure enough the plastic piece that holds the glass to the actuator was broken. Got the new one epoxied in and is functioning normally again.

What it is supposed to look like:

For those who have replaced the clip, what did you use to adhere the new clip to the window? Just normal silicone, or something else?

I used JB Weld but I'm sure any 2 part Epoxy would work.

I actually have some of that stuff in the garage already. How long has it been holding up for you? I would have thought silicone would be a better option than epoxy. Epoxy seems too rigid...?

I just had this problem come up this evening on my 2009 Taco. I couldn't believe that ebay link was still live, but it had the best price. Thanks kalieaire !

My replacement clips should be here next week. I've temporarily put the window back on the broken clip, guided it to fully closed position, and unplugged the window switch until I can fix it fully.

    This is my exact situation.

I just did the clip a few days ago and have yet to put the door panel back on. Going to replace the speakers while it is off.

Everything I saw said to clean the window really good. I've got dynamat-like stuff and closed cell foam covering the entire interior door panel. I didn't want to tear a lot of that off to remove the second clip. The "residue" from the original adhesive was on there and created a pretty good pressure seal. If that doesn't work or the clip fails, I have another ready to go in. Super easy to replace without removing the glass.
