I heard this the other day...but mine sounded and felt like it was coming from the tranny. I don't know if the previous owner had all this taken care of before they traded it in but I'm gonna call my local dealer to see if they might be able to look at it.

Got my truck back today from my dealer after 3 days. They replaced the leaf packs, installed the steering damper, and also did the TSB to install the plugs in the lower control arms. Everything seems to be good and no vibration. Only thing is they installed the ECGS bushing as well so I'm not sure which fixed my vibration.....I'm just glad it's gone!!!!

How sure are you that this noise is "normal" ? Mine started doing this maybe a month ago after not doing it for 6 months. I'm not having any vibration issues, just that chirping noise while I'm stopped

Sorry man I was just being a smart ass....repeating the usual response you get on TW when you say anything wrong about the Taco. It's a great truck, but far from perfect.

The low speed vibes during braking on my 2017 with 2k miles is beginning to bother me. I can feel it very noticably every time I come to a stop. Was hoping to wait until the 5k maintenance, but I'm going to have to call for an appointment next week. Hoping they can do something about it. Sounds like it's hit or miss dealing with Toyota repair shops.

Good luck. I hope they actually do something for you. They told me there was nothing they could do b/c my vin was outside the TSB range and Toyota would not pay us. I have an open case with Toyota corporate about it.

Went to the dealer today for the leaf springs and the steering wheel damper, I also ask them to do the new tsb rev 1 for the transmission and the plugs on the lower control arms to stop the whistle sound. They only had one set in stock so I have to go back Wednesday to do the passenger side. I have to say the vibration is 99% gone and the transmission shifts like a car it is so much smoother.

TSB says does not apply to OFF ROAD package, so dealer gave it back to me and wouldn't do it! Pissed. Anybody with an OR get it done?

Mines an off road and has had the TSB applied before I bought it. The wording is funky but ORs are included.

I can understand that but I took my 2016 DCOR to the dealer and was shown this line in the TSB and they stated NOT APPLICABLE.

"This bulletin applies to ALL 2016 model year Tacoma vehicles NOT equipped with the TRD Off-Road
    Package option."

    ..
that seems pretty straight forward to me. I am curious how someone thinks they ARE included and what proof I can provide my dealer....?

It's not. They are saying ALL NON-OR are included. They aren't saying NO Off-Roads are...just that some Off-Roads are excluded.

If your VIN falls below the numbering of one of these, this TSB is applicable.

    5TFGZ5AN#GX040536
    3TMGZ5AN#GM039554
    5TFCZ5AN#GX040121
    3TMCZ5AN#GM039538
    5TFSZ5AN#GX017523

If NO Off-roads were included, they wouldn't be sure to specify the angle ranges for the Off-Roads, nor specify part numbers for the leaf springs, outlining they are applicable to the Off-Road package access cab.

Yours isn't applicable since it's falls after the VINs. Yours should already have the new springs and damper. Look for the shim underside your springs to confirm.

I don't see any shims...If they are there I don't see them at the moment I need to look a little closer after I clean the undercarriage maybe I need more.

The vibration is worse since REV 1

I can confirm my 2017 or has got worse since rev one. I hate complaining because these Toyota's refuse to die. Bet rev one didn't do much but mask the problem!

Vibrations are mechanical. Rev 1 was electrical. I'm unsure how one would cause the other.

If the issue is not driveline and is internal of transmission?

Rev1 and my truck still shifts hard, on incline parks the delay from p to D is still present calling dealer tm. But more noticeable in front end now.I got rev 1 yesterday and about 600 miles since update....steering wheel vibrating front end shakes on dirt roads. Short bed gets loose easy. shakes at high speeds unsure if normal. But my 1991 Toyota pickup is bulletproof.. maybe they should have manufactured my truck in japan...

OK now I'm kinda debating whether or not I should get this update. It looks like a few people are getting some negative effects from the update. I don't think the shifting on my truck is that bad... But I don't know... Damn
