Looking at going with this kit. Installing my OME lift next fri and woyld like to extend my lines. My truck should be between 3-4" of lift up front and 4-5" in the rear. Would the +3" kit do fine or should I get the +6" kit?

Never hurt to get longer if your wheels do drop that far but I think +6 is too long.

+6 overall length is probably ~27 inch

Are the extended brake lines a must? The only time I go "wheelin" is to go shooting in the desert on dirt roads. Never any extensive flexin needed to get to our spot.

i've been wondering about this too.. i'm gonna go up to 3" in the front and 2.5" in the rear. some of my buddies are telling me not to worry about it but these are the kinds of guys that roll on spacers and don't even think twice about it..

I have 3" spacers on mine and 1.5 blocks in the rear. Truck is completely level at 38" all the way around and I don't have extended brake lines. But since I am putting in a "real" suspension lift thatll be an inch or so higher, I def dont want to screw things up. Most recent pic I have....20170108_160340_HDR.jpg

Id go for the long ones, personally. I think I have +3 on the rear and its just about maxed when my Dakars fully droop.

Its only to hit one good bump or pot hole to rip that stock line and end up brakeless. Up to you if a $40 line is worth preventing that.

Also it isnt actually the lift your worried about its the extended length of the shock used. That will be your droop limiting factor for most setups.

I would highly recommend extended brake line if you lift the rig 2.5 or more inch. I would say stock length brake line are ok for about 2 inch lift height truck.

To test, after you finished your front and rear lift, just use a hi lift Jack and lift at your receiver until both rear tire comes off the ground and see how stretch your rear brake line is. And image it breaking when you're no where close to an auto part store. Stranded and can't really drive the truck anywhere...

    Just my .02cent

    Your truck, your choice.

Why change the oil filter and not the oil?
    WHY NOT........

So the comolete kit of 4 lines necessarily isnt a must? Just replace one line???

Will +6" lines be loose and flooping around everywhere? Dont want them catching on anything? And eventually I'd like a dakar leaf pack so +6" sounds like good choice

It may flop around, but you can find a way to hang it with a small bungee or something like that.

Just the rear is all you need. You can zip tie any slack or bend the bracket up if you want.

Maybe this will help you decide.... this is on a FT 6 inch lift with 35" tires. +6 SS line. In regards to slack.

just to clarify again so you dont spend money on something you dont need. A coilover lift like the ome one your using still uses factory range of travel. you dont need an extended line up front.

Would one setup require extended brake lines and one doesn't?

They're only necessary IF you happen to drop the axle too far.

The OME kit should only net you ~3", where's that extra inch coming from?

It only takes once for you to find out if your brake line is too short. And then you'd be screwed! I'd replace the rear for sure.

As has been said, you don't need the front lines unless you just want to replace them with shiny stainless lines. Only when you go with a bracket lift or a long travel kit with longer control arms do you actually "need" extended front lines. They might help with brake feel/power, but you don't need longer ones.

to reiterate @jbrandt statement. I replaced the rear when I did the OME lift with the +3" that came with the kit. I still have factory fronts on. I did order the +3" fronts but waiting for the TBU to swap them out at the same time. when that will be, who knows. hopefully this year now that I have a garage.
