That's funny. I debated a while between 285/75, 305/70, and 315/70 KO2s. I really wanted to stick with KO2s given that they've handled mostly everything I've dragged them through (short of muddy clay), but they only come in 285/70 and the next size up was 315/70. I travel through pretty varied terrain so as far as AT vs MT goes, I'd pick an AT hands down. After ordering the 315/70 KO2 and second guessing myself several times for clearance, I opted to cancel them.

The 285/75 Cooper ST Maxx was another good AT option but not too confident with the amount of sidewall failures I've personally seen (3 out of my group of friends alone). That left the 305/70 MTR, 305/70 Ridge Grappler, or 285/75 Wildpeak.

I pulled the trigger on the 305/70 Ridge Grapplers, they should be in this week. The Ridge Grapplers should be exactly one inch wider than the 285/75s, but the same height.

Sick! I want to see how much you have to cut before ordering haha. Let me know what you think! That is the way I'm leaning although I know I can jam 285/75s because I have before.

    Have you regeared?

Not yet, but 4.56's will be next on my list for sure. Between the jump to 34's and the weight I'm carrying it's almost mandatory. We're pretty similarly loaded so you're probably in the same boat as me, lol.

Dude I love copying you haha. Really excited to regear and lock the rear. I think I can up the tire size first and just lose some power first though. Let me know how weak it feels so I can decide. Otherwise I'll do 4.56 first.

Unfortunately, I need to drop like 250 on new rear coils to hold the weight of my tent and bumper first. This weekend was the first time I ran them together and it was squatting bad. Ordering the icon Overland coils asap.

I went from Superflex 2" (standard) to Icon Overland with an OME rear trim packer on the driver's side. Still squats loaded, but I think I have a little bit more weight than you back there? Not sure if you have drawers but I fill my shit up haha. Probably 200lbs inside the drawers alone (not including the other gear I bring) so you might not have the same issue. Next time I feel like dropping the rear diff I might squeeze another trim packer on the driver's side and put another one on the passenger to get a little more height back.

I looked into the All Pro 3.5" but not sure if the Icons held more weight.

I have the 200 lbs bumper and the 100 pound tent. Loaded I probably have about 150 lbs of gear inside but no drawers. Although I'm going to go with some drawers and a fridge slide down the line. Who did your drawers?

A couple fun things coming up:

I ordered some special rigid pods. They are the normal Amber Dually's with the SAE/DOT Compliant Lens swapped onto them so I can use them on the road when I want. Should be a nice contrast to my bright white headlights.

At the end of the month, I'll be ordering some Icon Overland 3" Rear Coils. I really need to amp up the weight carrying ability with the rear bumper and the tent on the roof.

Also hoping to get ahold of an arb single air compressor and install that in April. Not too pricey so that will be nice to finally be able to air up on the trails. Ideally, I'll set it up so that there is a hookup on my rear and front bumper. I'm going to mount the compressor on the slee offroad mount under my hood.

At the same time, I'm hoping that I finally get around to installing the shrockworks windshield wiper reservoir that I've owned since I bought the truck.

Lastly, when the tax return rolls in, I have a decision to make. Lock and 4.56 gears, or 305/70/17 tires. I've asked a few people this before, but which should I do first? I'm worried that stock gearing will really struggle turning 34's.

    A) definitely do a double compressor, single takes for ever to air up with for 33+ inch tires. Trust me you'll be the last one to finish.

    B) gears and locker fo sho

I used a single and it airs up each tire from 15-35 in about 1 min-2 min. Not worth double the cost to me to save 4 min.
