Interesting. Should work. Might have some plastic rubbing and depending on the wheel offset you might need to trim the cab mount.

A member posted this pic saying these were 305/55 20's but when I went to message him he hadn't logged on in a long time. Now I can't remember who it was.

So I have s 3in spacer kit on my OR and I want to install something better but I want to keep the height. I was thinking 5100's with OME springs. I know I might need a small spacer but what max height would I be able to leave the shock at?

I've read over and over in this thread. Coil overs, shocks, blocks, etc..... 5100's have been mentioned alot. So, I go to my local 4x4 shop, experts in lifting, and the head guy contradicts almost all of this thread! He recommends a 2.5" front spacer and a 2" rear block for my 2017 limited double cab. It will give me the height for a bigger tire and a nice stance. The rack on my truck is .75". Is 2.5" too much? He was negative about the 5100's. He said they mess with spring tension too much. I'm confused. ???????

I have a friend that works at Toyota and all they use are blocks and spacers to lift Tacoma's and 4Runners. I asked him how can they charge $2k for a $200 lift? He told me it's how they make extra money and then tried to tell me how good they are. They were trying to retro fit a spacer lift on a PRO when I was in there. I said that's just wrong a $40k + truck with a cheap lift from the dealer. the lift package with 285/75/16 tires on stock wheels was almost $10k extra. Dealers are a complete rip off.

If I decide to lift my 2017 OR Taco, what are the max size tires I can put on it without rubbing? Looking at 265/60/20.

He is a "Bro Truck" expert. If you on and offroad advantages, stick with suspension lifts. If you want looks then spacers are fine. Also, he is probably referring to 5100's and stock coils. If you need lift advice. Email Headstrong or Toytec. They can steer you in the best direction for your budget.

Not too many experts on 20's in this section. From my experience in trying to get tires to fit...they will probably rub. But I'm all about trying. So go for it. But please come back with results.

What's the plan for your truck? Off road use or mainly street use but you want it to look more aggressive? Spacer lifts are not optimal but can be used so long as they are the type that compresses the coil springs within the coilovers. A spacer that goes ON TOP of the coilover is typically bad news if you use anything more then 1/2" because you are changing the overall length of the coilovers which typically leads to stuff breaking especially if you choose to go off road even just a little bit.

As others have stated a full suspension lifts is always going to be a better choice. But what level of suspension lift comes down to what you plan to use the truck for. I started saying I was going to just keep it stock. Then I bought a spacer lift. Then I wanted to off road lightly. I bought Toytec adjustable coilovers on the 5100 shocks. Then I wanted an upgrade from that so I bought BOSS 2.0 Coilovers. Last year I went full retard and now I have ICON 2.5 extended travel coilovers with resis in front and custom length ICON 2.5 RESI shocks in the rear. Oh and the BOSS 2.5 coilovers are still in service on my 4th gen 4 runner.

It all comes down to your planned use. :)

That's equivalent to a 32.5 x 10.5 in inches. You should be fine depending on your wheel offset. Maybe a little plastic rubbing.

In the world of AR15s/10s upgrading them becomes known as the Black gun disease. I think in the truck world you have Off-road truck disease.

LOL! Hopefully I am good now. I am liking the ICONS a lot and I can rebuild them when the time comes. These are very good things.

You can do a 3/2 spacer/block lift and run a 285/55/20 with a zero offset. That's what I have and I have zero rub at full lock in either direction.

285/55 20's will not rub with a zero offset.

it normal for a newly assembled coil over with an OME spring and a Bilstein 5100 to have a slight bow to it? I have not mounted them to the truck yet. I used new top plates and new rubber spring pads.

Have bought Icons front and back for a 2.5 - 3.00" lift. Will check after the truck is lifted.

Not that I have seen it before. Can you take off the coils and see if they have a bow in it?

What notch are they on the 5100? If you are on the top or second to the top notch that happens sometimes. Once you install them and get some load on them that should go away.
